 The Falcon Celebrates Native American Culture every month, with Evan Pritchard, who will introduce special guests, native music, history & spoken word.
Regrettably, our previously scheduled Special Guests: Magpie / Mandolinist Terri Leonino and guitarist Greg Artzner are unable to perform tonight due to illness.
Evan Pritchard (Mi’kmaq), has authored of 35 books on Native American culture and sings both traditional and original songs accompanied by guitars, drums, flutes, shakers, or djeegumadesq (Mi’kmaq instrument).
Evan has led hundreds of interactive events over the past 20 years and was a longtime collaborator with Pete Seeger. He is a widely published historian and poet, has released several music CDs, and is frequently seen on The History Channel.

 Mr. Amen Yearns, the moniker of Sean Merryman, is an experimental music project started by the Hudson Valley based musician in 2013. Sean was born and raised in Marlboro, NY, and is a long time friend of The Falcon.
Attempting to blur the lines of what can be considered folk music Mr. Amen Yearns sings folky melodies overtop an array of synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers. His first and only album is a self titled two part record that plays as half electronic half folk rock, it can be found on Spotify, Apple music, and itunes.

 Called "one of the great voices of today," Alexis Cole has been compared to classic jazz singers such as Sarah Vaughan and Anita O'Day. Her luxurious voice and innovative interpretations make her an instant favorite with audiences of all ages.
Cole is the recipient of a Swing Journal Gold Disk award, and was a winner of the NY Jazzmobile and Montreux Jazz Festival vocal competitions. She records for Motéma Music, NY, Chesky Records, NY and Venus Records Japan. Her recordings have received high praise in the jazz press and are spun on radio world-wide. The Chain Gang are a classic rock, pop and dance band which has been performing nearly 20 years. As a part of their extensive repertoire, they created a Billy Joel Tribute show about 10 years ago. The show has been critically acclaimed and enthusiastically received by the public.

 Jeff Watts, the drummer they call Tain, spent his formative years with Wynton and Branford Marsalis, and his compositional skills now command equal attention.
Jeff joined the Wynton Marsalis Quartet in 1981 and proceeded to win three Grammy Awards with the ensemble. Watts left Wynton Marsalis in 1988. After working with George Benson, Harry Connick. Jr. and McCoy Tyner, he joined the Branford Marsalis Quartet in 1989.
Watts current album, Blue Vol.1, celebrates blues and ballads, with an overall dedication to Jeff's mother, Marie Lewis Watts, who passed away in 2012. The recordings showcase Tain’s compositional range while hinting at a future as producer with his own studio.
In the film and television industry Jeff has appeared as both a musician on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and as an actor, Rhythm Jones in Spike Lee’s Mo Better Blues. |
