 Born in Plymouth, NC and raised in Mount Vernon, NY, Smoove is a gifted writer, comedian and actor, who continues to entertain audiences all over the world with his unique brand of comedic funk. His breakout role on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” as Leon has firmly planted him as one of the best comedic actors today.
He began his career in 1999, when he moved to Los Angeles and landed a recurring role on MTV’s “The Lyricist Lounge Show,” as well as featured guest spots on “The Chris Rock Show” and “Premium Blend.” This led to his first big feature film, where he narrated and starred in the cult classic “Pootie Tang,” reuniting with Rock. Smoove is also known for his recurring role of Leon, opposite Larry David on HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”.
Smoove’s talents extend to other areas in the entertainment business. He has a development deal to create his own series in partnership with director Shawn Levy, whom he met and worked with on “Date Night.”

 From Summer Stage in Central Park to SOB's, multi-talented Afro-Cuban musician, radio host, and Latin Jazz USA lifetime achievement awardee Chico Alvarez and renowned flutist Mauricio Smith will grace the stage with their latin dance band, Ran Kan Kan!
Ernesto "Chico" Alvarez Peraza was born in Brooklyn, grew up in Cuba, has performed as a singer throughout the New York tri-state area for the last four decades; and has directed several bands and orchestras including his 10-piece conjunto, Mafímba. He is also the radio host of the New World Gallery, which airs on Sunday afternoons on WBAI Pacifica Radio (99.5 FM).
Mauricio Smith, Jr. was born in Panama and resides in NYC. At age 15 he was already a sensational flutist. He studied music at the National Conservatory of Panama, and with such great musicians/composers as Eduardo Charpentier, Roberto Pitre, Mauricio Smith Sr., among others. Mauricio is also a member of the Charanga band Tipica Novel.

| Kim Moberg was born in Juneau, Alaska, the daughter of a classical pianist mother of Alaskan Native Tlingit descent and a US Coast Guard veteran father from Kansas. Music has always been an integral part of Kim's life, helping her to adjust to the frequent moves associated with growing up in a military family. Kim's debut CD entitled "Above Ground”, celebrates the achievement of her goal of overcoming stage fright to bring her music out of the basement and “Above Ground". Produced by Grammy nominated producer Jon Evans, the cd was released worldwide in September 2017.
Kim’s recent recognitions include: selection by WOMR’s Bob Weiser to perform at the Suzi Wollenberg DJ Showcase at the 2017 NERFA conference and placing 2nd at the Linden Tree Coffeehouse Winter Potpourri (American Idol Folk), which earned her a co-bill booking with legendary folk artist Bill Staines. Kim’s original songs speak to reunion, awakening and social consciousness. |

Three Alternative Rock bands will be performing at Lucy’s Lounge hosted by The Music Matters. The evening will be highlighted with a special performance by young Pop singer Marisa Jane, who will be making her first nightclub appearance
The evening begins with Pleasantville Alternative Rockers The Michael Collins Band showcasing their original tunes. Marisa Jane will be joining them for a few tunes. At 23, her voice has been described as somewhere between Amy Winehouse and Billie Holiday. Next up will be Alternative/Folk/Hip Hop Artists All Types of Kinds. Tremendous harmonies abound when this fine young group takes the stage. Closing out the evening will be multi-instrumentalist and harder rocking Alternative Rocker Alex Cano.

 Anita Rein is an Afro-Latina singer/songwriter focusing mostly on Pop, Soul and acoustic Indie. In addition to being a songwriter, Anita is also a spoken word artist and advocate for women's rights, rights for people of color and rights for the LGBTQ community.
