Born in Plymouth, NC and raised in Mount Vernon, NY, Smoove is a gifted writer, comedian and actor, who continues to entertain audiences all over the world with his unique brand of comedic funk. His breakout role on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” as Leon has firmly planted him as one of the best comedic actors today.He began his career in 1999, when he moved to Los Angeles and landed a recurring role on MTV’s “The Lyricist Lounge Show,” as well as featured guest spots on “The Chris Rock Show” and “Premium Blend.” This led to his first big feature film, where he narrated and starred in the cult classic “Pootie Tang,” reuniting with Rock. From Summer Stage in Central Park to SOB's, multi-talented Afro-Cuban musician, radio host, and Latin Jazz USA lifetime achievement awardee Chico Alvarez and renowned flutist Mauricio Smith will grace the stage with their latin dance band, Ran Kan Kan!Ernesto "Chico" Alvarez Peraza was born in Brooklyn, grew up in Cuba, has performed as a singer throughout the New York tri-state area for the last four decades; and has directed several bands and orchestras including his 10-piece conjunto, Mafímba. He is also the radio host of the New World Gallery, which airs on Sunday afternoons on WBAI Pacifica Radio (99.5 FM). Mauricio Smith, Jr. was born in Panama and resides in NYC. At age 15 he was already a sensational flutist. He studied music at the National Conservatory of Panama, and with such great musicians/composers as Eduardo Charpentier, Roberto Pitre, Mauricio Smith Sr., among others. Playing the Hammond B3 Organ, Jeremy leads his funky soul-jazz trio performing Blues, Jazz, and Roots Music. Jeremy’s style is informed by the current masters of the groove from the jam-band scene (Medeski, Martin, and Wood, Soul-Live, Derek Trucks Band.) He’s been playing festivals and jazz clubs in the New England region since the release of his first album. JB’s Band was also featured on Boogaloo to McDuff, a tribute to Jack McDuff, available on Scufflin’ Records. Back in the studio for his sophomore release, The Eel, on Flying Yak Records, Jeremy Baum knocks it out of the park with 10 Hammond organ and piano driven arrangements. An incredibly powerful performer, comedian Vic DiBitetto churns energy, honesty and humanity into nonstop laughter. His pace is frenetic. He’s been called a cross between Rodney Dangerfield and Ralph Kramden. The bottom line is, DiBitetto leaves his audiences breathless with laughter. Up until 2014, Vic drove a school bus for special needs children for 20 years. The law requires that there be a matron on the bus as well. That was Vic’s wife, Lucy. | Kim Moberg was born in Juneau, Alaska, the daughter of a classical pianist mother of Alaskan Native Tlingit descent and a US Coast Guard veteran father from Kansas. Music has always been an integral part of Kim's life, helping her to adjust to the frequent moves associated with growing up in a military family. Kim's debut CD entitled "Above Ground”, celebrates the achievement of her goal of overcoming stage fright to bring her music out of the basement and “Above Ground". Produced by Grammy nominated producer Jon Evans, the cd was released worldwide in September 2017. Kim’s recent recognitions include: selection by WOMR’s Bob Weiser to perform at the Suzi Wollenberg DJ Showcase at the 2017 NERFA conference and placing 2nd at the Linden Tree Coffeehouse Winter Potpourri (American Idol Folk), which earned her a co-bill booking with legendary folk artist Bill Staines.
