 Orlando Marin, a contemporary of such greats as Tito Puente, Machito, and Tito Rodriguez, is the only orchestra leader from New York’s golden era of mambo who still performs regularly.
Orlando formed his first band, Eddie Palmieri and his Orchestra and, since then, has played with several different bands and has performed in the famous Palladium Ballroom. In 1997, Latin music historiographer Max Salazar presented Orlando a plaque in recognition of nearly five decades of uninterrupted contribution to Latin music. In January 2003, Orlando was invited by Latin Jazz station, WPFW, by the Arlington County (Virginia) Cultural Arts Division, and by the Latin American Folk Institute to do a live concert in Washington at The Spectrum Theater and in 2006, Congressman Jose E. Serrano honored Orlando as “The Last Mambo King,” for his continuing to provide Latin American music and his willingness to devote time to helping the less fortunate.

perform from the works of Buxtehude and Pachelbel.
The concert will also feature the Smithfield instrumental ensemble including flautist Michelle Demko, clarinetist Norman Baker, bassist Kyle Behnken, violist Piotr Kargul, violinist Rob Murphy and arranger Matt Finley on trumpet. Also vocalists Monte Stone and Denise Jordan Finley, poet Kevin McEneaney, and pianist Connor Whelan. A folk ensemble including Tim Capowski, guitarist and Ted Rathjen on mandolin will complete the program.
Tea and delicacies will be served in the church community room after the music. Admission to the event is free to all members of the church and the general

 The Zaccai Curtis Latin Jazz Quintet will take the stage at Jazz in Gtown’s final concert of the season on December 2nd. Joining Zaccai will be Godwin Louis on sax, Joe Dyson on drums, Jonathan Michel on bass and Reinaldo DeJesus, percussion. Curtis composes and arranges for his own quartet, trio, solo piano works, Big-Band, Orchestra, as well as large and small ensembles with strings. In 2001 he was commissioned to arrange Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Capriccio Espagnol” to be performed by his 7-piece Latin jazz ensemble ‘Insight’ with the Hartford Symphony Chamber Orchestra. In 2003 he was chosen as a winner of the ASCAP Young Jazz Composer’s competition and each year consecutively through 2006. Zaccai and his quartet were selected by the U.S. State Department to be in the American Music Abroad (Jazz Ambassadors) program two times in 2006.  I am delighted to be the feature at the Kingston Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild on Dec 2. I get to do a half hour set about midway through the open mic performers. Signup to play two songs begins at 7 and the music starts 7:30. It's a great listening experience, so don't think you have to perform to enjoy it. I will be doing some cool instrumental fingerstyle guitar pieces, a couple seasonal pieces, a cool Scottish song, and at least one humor song. But there is ALWAYS a lot of great music to hear at the Kingston Folk Guild, so please come out! Admission $6 or $5 for Folk Guild members and seniors. The music is held at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Kingston.

 Pat became an incurable acoustic guitar addict in college, after hearing fellow students play the likes of Mississippi John Hurt, Leo Kottke, John Fahey, Rev. Gary Davis and others. They played "fingerstyle" or"fingerpicking" guitar, creating wonderful sounds he never heard on Top 40 radio. "I thought each sounded like a whole band, armed with just an acoustic guitar”, so he had to learn this style himself.
Now just to clarify, playing with your right hand fingers instead of a pick is called fingerstyle guitar by some, while others call it fingerpicking... but we trust you will enjoy the music.

Petey Hop will have us Rockin' & Rollin', Hoppin' & Boppin' all night long! Pete's music runs the gamut from straight up Rock & Roll to Americana, Electric and Acoustic Blues to Singer/songwriter, and Alternative music. The band is Petey Hop on guitar/vocals, Larry "Buzz" Fallstrom on keys and Nick Longo on drums.
Pete's CD, "The Levee", reached #1 on the Roots Report for radio airplay. It was produced by Grammy-nominated Blues guitarist Duke Robillard, who's worked with many music industry legends. Duke wrote, "To those who don't know [Petey] yet, you will soon!"
Petey's originals are powerfully written, musically intriguing and downright fun to listen to. Songs like "Little Johnny", "Westside" and the title track, "The Levee" have been met with high praise. So excited for Petey's return to 12 Grapes!

| Ashley and Eric L’Esperance first felt the electricity of their undeniable chemistry at an impromptu song swap. A year and a half later they were married and released their debut album “Where We’ve Been & Where We’re Going.” Jessica Phaneuf, WUMB, says “I listen to A LOT of music, and this [album] would be at the top of the pile.” The Promise is Hope has earned their place among New England’s finest emerging indie-folk duos. Their live performances are often described as beautifully moving, inspired, and connected. With deep reverence for songwriting, the duo’s music explores the mysteries of love, spirituality, and the joys and struggles of life’s journey. They were invited to perform at the 2017 Connecticut Folk Festival, and have shared the stage with national folk artists such as Amy Speace and Gaelynn Lea. They have captured the hearts of listeners in hundreds of crowds, and are currently writing material for a sophomore album set for release in early 2018. |

Throughout his 20 years in NYC, composer/drummer Roland Vazquez, continued to develop his "funky-salsa-bebop" style with unique compositions for octet, quintet, and big band on his critically acclaimed albums; which collectively feature performances by a veritable "who's who" of East and West Coast contemporary jazz artists. As a member of Clare Fischer's all-star band "Salsa Picante", he played on that group's Grammy winning "Salsa Picante 2+2."
