Legendary vocal group The Drifters is coming to the Paramount Theater! The Drifters, one of Rock& Roll’s founding vocal groups is once again touring the U.S From their inception in the early 1950s, the Drifters embarked on a historical journey that included no less than five legendary lead singers, including Rock & Rolls Hall of Famers Clyde McPhater and Ben E. King. With veteran manager George Treadwell originally at the helm, the Drifters scored hit after hit: “Under the Boardwalk”, “There Goes My Baby,””Stand by Me,”..the list goes on. Along with fellow inductees the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, Bob Dylan, and the Supremes, the Drifters were in the first class of Rock & Roll legends to be initiated into the Hall of Fame. The group has played at the White House on various occasions; gave a benefit concert in Berlin the day the wall fell; performed for the Pope, the Queen of England, and Nelson Mandela; and toured the world for the USP in three different war zones, from Korea to Iraq.

Singer/songwriter David Roth blends a dash of Dan Fogelberg, a whoosh of Will Rogers, and a touch of James Taylor-meets-Jerry Seinfeld in his highly original, sometimes hilarious and always thought provoking award winning music. Recognized as an exceptional performer, he has gained national acclaim for his unique songs, moving stories, and creative guitar artistry. Among his credits are performances of his songs at the 40th Anniversary of the United Nations, at the 100th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall, and the inclusion of his songs in "Chicken Soup for the Soul" and "Rise Up Singing".

Phil Teumim will be featured and open mic performances will be available to all. Cost of admission for this event is $6 ($5 for Folk Guild members and seniors). Open mic sign-up at 7 p.m. Phil Teumim is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His songs are based on personal experiences, family stories, social commentary and world affairs, ranging from serious to sentimental, from sarcastic to silly, from world peace to seasickness. Teumim’s musical stylings are influenced by everything he ever heard, including folk, rock, blues, Celtic and other genres, but not necessarily all at the same time. He released his first CD of original material, All Over the Map, in March 2011. His sophomore CD, Far and Wide, was released in August 2015, and explores, among other things, national parks, seniors in love, side effects of medications, and the lighter side of flying. In performance, he accompanies himself on 6 and 12-string guitar, banjo and ukulele.

Happy Traum was an active participant in the Washington Square/Greenwich Village folk scene of the 1950s and 60s. Over the years, he has recorded or performed with Bob Dylan, Maria Muldaur, John Sebastian, Rory Block, Levon Helm, Pete Seeger, Artie Traum, and has earned recognition as a performer, writer, editor, session musician, folklorist, teacher and recording artist. 
Leader and tenor saxophonist Gerry Malkin has performed with Tito Puente, Lew Soloff, Adam Nussbaum,George Colligan, the Temptations, the Four Tops, Ray Vega and Dave Weckl. 
Comprised on SUNY New Paltz professors, The Handsome Devils play a selection of dance tunes sure to get everyone on their feet.

Wendy May is an extraordinarily talented vocalist and Rock guitarist. Maverick Concerts closes its stunningly successful season with the Shanghai Quartet, renowned over four decades for its passionate musicality, impressive technique, and multicultural innovations. One of the world’s foremost chamber ensembles, its elegant style melds the delicacy of Eastern music with the emotional breadth of Western repertoire. The Quartet has worked with the world’s most distinguished artists and has been regular feature at many of Europe's, Asia's and North America’s leading chamber music festivals. A beloved favorite among Maverick revelers, the Shanghai has performed at Maverick Concerts every summer for more than two decades.
J. Kaine is singer/songwriter and native of the New York area. He has traveled the United States and beyond absorbing the influence of the best of what the 20th century has to offer. Fresh off the boat from his nomadic fugue state down under, he uses his soulful and bluesy sound to express his poetry, creating a sound that sits somewhere between Billie Holiday, Barrington Levy, Rodrigo Amarante, and Pink Floyd.
