Soul Asylum’s indie success led to the band entering the major-label mainstream with 1988’s Hang Time and its 1990 follow-up And the Horse They Rode In On, and achieving a platinum-level commercial breakthrough with 1992’s Grave Dancers Union and 1995’s Let Your Dim Light Shine. Cracker a chart-topping band Cracker has been described as a lot of things over the years: alt-rock, Americana, and insurgent-country. They have been the terms punk and classic-rock thrown at them.

"Both musically and lyrically, these songs sound and feel more like me than anything I've ever done," Brian says.

The Jaspers have been hailed as “sonically delightful and expressively compelling” (The Strad) and “powerful” (The New York Times).

“The Jaspers... match their sounds perfectly, as if each swelling chord were coming out of a single, impossibly well-tuned organ, instead of four distinct instruments.” (New Haven Advocate)

GARNER Arts Center
55 West Railroad Avenue
Garnerville, NY   See Map
Bring your chair or blankets and a picnic and enjoy live music from Beacon artist, Jill Hartmann. Raised in Louisiana and the child of two musical families, Jill began singing at a very young age. Her first concrete passion aside from singing was poetry, writing volumes of verse starting from the time she was 8 years old which would inevitably aid in her songwriting in later years. Eventually she would attend Louisiana State University for poetry but along the way, her true love of music made its way back into her life. At the age of 20, Jill started teaching herself how to play the guitar, emulating such legendary folk finger-pickers as Joni Mitchell. The result is a unique and immediately identifiable style all her own. $5 admission Drinks for sale
