Red Tail Ring is the Americana roots duo of Michael Beauchamp and Laurel Premo. The collaboration blends the loving attention of revivalist fervor with the playful creativity of starting from scratch. Whether rendering a traditional tune or one of their many original compositions, the duo infuses each song with musical imagination, haunting harmonies and instrumental artistry on fiddle, banjo, guitar, and mandolin. "We love pushing the boundaries of what a traditional song can be," says Beauchamp. "It informs how we write our original songs. There's a real energy exchange between the old and the new." Formed in 2009, the Michigan-based duo released their fourth full-length studio album, Fall Away Blues, in late 2016. The album features original and traditional songs in an old-time and country blues style that explore topical subjects, such as a devastating community-wide gun tragedy and environmental struggles in the US, as well as changing relationships and a shifting sense of home.

Marlboro, NY   See Map
Alexis P. Suter is the 2017 BMA Nominee for Best Female Contemporary Blues Vocalist!

"She is one of those wonderful spirits; she's got her arms around you. You can feel that." - Levon Helm (1940-2012)

"It's a rare thing to share the stage with great talent like that young lady." - B.B. King (1925-2015) The root of the Alexis P. Suter Band and The Minister's Of Sound is Suter's deep, powerful, commanding, and soulful voice, artfully blending the lines between gospel and blues. Suter is the daughter of a singer, Carrie Suter, backing vocalist with Harry Belafonte, Mahalia Jackson and Rosetta Tharpe and cites the late classic R&B singer, Ruth Brown, as a primary influence, as well as Barry White, DJ Rogers, and her sister Andrea P. Suter.

Alexis P. Suter is a powerhouse bass/baritone vocalist with the ability to go to "that other place" where singers go when they are lost in the music. It is no wonder the late B.B. King and the late Levon Helm were big fans.

Veteran musicians Joe Gil (trombone), Neil Alexander (organ and keyboards) and Nadav Snir-Zelniker (drums) have put together a new group called the "Thunderhead Organ Trio". The group is taking the concept of the organ trio in a new and different direction, drawing on many different influences and styles. The group explores the grittier, rockier side of the genre referencing groups like the original Tony Williams Lifetime and mines the jazz standard repertoire for obscure gems and deep cuts.

The group will be playing original tunes, jazz standards, lost classics and rare gems.

Opening Act
with Bennett Harris
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
At the core of Bennett Harris's music is an intricate fingerpicking guitar style, based on the Rev. Gary Davis method (as taught to Bennett by a Davis protege, the late Ian Buchanan.) This string weaving generates a carnival-like, upbeat sound of the ragtime era, providing a warm texture behind Bennett's emotional singing and harmonica playing.

An old Gibson flat top guitar is Bennett's choice of tradition. He switches guitars entirely for the gritty Delta "bottleneck" slide style, employing his pre-WWll gem of a National steel guitar. This metal-bodied resonator guitar has a memorable, commanding gut-bucket growl and whine, perfect for the rugged Delta blues sound of the Deep South plantation culture. It is a unique, all-American sound.

Magic Dick, harmonica master for Boston’s legendary J. Geils Band has partnered with guitar and vocal sensation, Shun, to create one of the most dynamic musical acts to come out of Boston in a long time. Their music is soulful blues, rockin’ yet thoughtful and performed by two top musicians.

Since 1969, Magic Dick has toured the world playing clubs and stadiums with the J. Geils Band. “From the moment I first heard Shun's CD “Funky Thumb Stuff” I knew that a manifest musical collaboration was about to happen. Shun’s sound simply made me feel very alive and induced in me a synchronous alignment of musical DNA as if it was his intention as well as mine all along!

“In this collaboration with Magic Dick,” Shun says, “we wanted to make music in a way that no one had quite done before while remaining grounded in our roots. Magic Dick brings a powerhouse attack with ferocious precision and a killer groove to this duo."

Rock & Roll doo-wop legends SHA NA NA combined their love for the classics of rock & roll with a dynamic theatrical approach as fellow college students at Columbia University in New York in 1969. They appeared just before Jimi Hendrix forty-five years ago at The Woodstock Festival in their eighth professional gig (of course the check bounced). The band rose to stardom with their portrayal of Johnny Casino and the Gamblers in the movie Grease -the highest grossing musical film of all time -and with four seasons of their own worldwide television series, The Sha Na Na Show. Sha Na Na performed six songs on the Grease soundtrack and the song “Sandy”, sung by John Travolta, was co-written by the band’s piano man Screamin’ Scott Simon.

She's been writing and shaping her own sound, combining all of her influences and idols. Her music mixes the classic sounds of Blues, Soul, Funk and R&B, with modern aspects taken from dance, pop and hip-hop music. Her lyrics are an honest representation of herself and inspired by her own personal journey.

Nellybombs recently started performing her own material live and the reception and feedback has been outstanding. Whether she is doing an intimate acoustic set, or with a full band behind her, she has begun to create quite a buzz in the local music scene.

This a great time to see an artist that has an undeniable music career ahead of her and that is sure to leave an impression that won't be forgotten any time soon.
