Concluding that The Nathans have created a CD with "layers upon layers of musical detail, savvy production moves and soaring, complex vocal arrangements on practically every song". (New Paltz Times: July 21, 2016)

Jacqui Naylor Quartet
Jazz
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
"Naylor remains one of the most superbly arresting vocalists around." - JazzTimes

"Naylor excels as a sensitive song interpreter with unerring intonation." - DownBeat

"Jacqui has a sumptuous voice, knack for scratchiness, and an ability to sweeten those bluesy bent notes." - Village Voice

This velvet-toned vocalist and songwriter is equally at ease singing music by Cole Porter and David Byrne as she is her own original music. Far from a straight-laced jazz purist, Naylor has made the mixing (and sometimes "smashing") of genres and eras her stock-in-trade, gaining fans and notoriety for singing the lyrics and melody of jazz standards over the grooves of well-known pop and rock songs and vice versa. "Naylor has brought new twists to the notion of melding jazz and pop tunes - without high-tech assistance," claims NPR.

Admission $10

Wallkill , NY   See Map
The Morris Family Bio. Lexington, NC. A father gives his son a guitar bought at the local jewelry store. 1964. Odessa, TX. Where you find that the youngest child in a family of five signs up to play violin in her junior high orchestra. Seemingly unrelated, but these are the auspicious beginnings for what would become a five-piece Celtic music family affair called the Morris Family Band. Driven by a collective desire for harmony, Aaron and Debbie Morris and their children, Joshua, Jacob and Jessica, have been playing music together for over a quarter of a century. Each has a different approach. Aaron and his guitar are steeped in blues and classic North Carolina finger picking. He cut his teeth writing songs and playing the likes of James Taylor, John Denver. Austin is where he met Debbie. Together they raised a family: three kids, all Suzuki trained musicians. Celtic music was not a conscious choice

The music of THE SLAMBOVIAN CIRCUS OF DREAMS has been variously described as “hillbilly-Floyd,” “folk-pop,” “alt-country, roots-rock,” and “surreal Americana;” a clear indicator of its singularly indescribable uniqueness. Dancing freely between all existing religious and philosophical mythologies, the music is uplifting, empowering, and a lot of fun.

BEARSVILLE THEATER
291 Tinker St.
Woodstock, NY   See Map
Cabinet formed in 2006, bringing together players from various musical and personal backgrounds. Some of the members were barely old enough to drink legally, but their thirst for older music was unquenchable. Whether its rustic "American Beauty"-era Grateful Dead or old-timey bluegrass, Cabinet has digested it all. This is music that might have its roots in the past, but is also current and vibrant, with a sense of celebrating the now.

12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
If you grew up in the '60's & '70's -- or even if you didn't -- you are probably a fan of Simon & Garfunkel. We most certainly are.

Jeb and Jock Guthrie, aka The Guthrie Brothers, have been playing and singing together since they were young kids. Performing in a number of garage bands and bar bands, they eventually came to cherish their "natural sibling vocal blend."

"We knew the first time we played a Simon and Garfunkel song that we had a natural and almost spiritual connection to it. Our voices blended effortlessly into that S&G signature sound, and the overwhelming audience reaction to our performance confirmed our feelings. Since that first performance, we have worked to perfect our tribute to these two amazing artists."

The Guthrie Brothers' authentic replication of the S&G songs we all know and love will blow you away. Don't miss this special performance!

**$10 Entertainment Fee or Free with dinner entree.**
