Family legend has it Avery Hill sang before she talked. Growing up on mix tapes of The Beach Boys, discovering her parents' Joni Mitchell records, and discovering Dar Williams on the modern folk stage, Avery eventually developed her own singular style of writing unexpected melodies to thoughtful lyrics. The range of her writing is evident in the diverse collection of songs on her 2015 album Dreams & Ghosts: inspired by the stories of her family’s history, each song follows the poignant themes of the human experience into a poignant discovery. None of these songs is as moving as “Hello & Goodbye”, which reached #6 on the Folk DJ List in September 2015 and helped make Dreams & Ghosts the #61 Album of the Year.

There is a rock n roll influence in Frank’s brand of zydeco, certainly. The genre which stemmed from Louisiana La-La music, came into its own over the last 60 years. Rock influence shows itself in zydeco, as much as blues and traditional Creole. Yet, Frank manages to keep tradition close.

Born in Oberlin, Louisiana, in 1947, Preston Frank is a bastion of a time when zydeco music was propelled by the rhythmic interplay of the accordion and fiddle, long before the modern influences of hip-hop and funk left their imprint on the genre. He plays the old songs with an irrepressible energy and his original compositions- including Why You Wanna Make Me Cry and Hey Trudy- have become staples of the modern zydeco repertoire. Preston is also the heartbeat of the Fingerlakes Grassroots Festival of Music & Dance in Trumansburg, NY, having performed every year since its founding 26 years ago.

Marlboro, NY   See Map
Not your ordinary tribute band - The THE BAND Band brings the music of The Band alive with authentic, true-to-form renditions of their extraordinary repertoire, delivered with the passion and commitment for which The Band was renowned.

The THE BAND Band has shared the stage with notable artists Richie Havens, New Riders Of The Purple Sage, and Marshall Crenshaw.

Drawing their repertoire from The Band's seminal period – from Big Pink to The Last Waltz - they showcase the astounding breadth and depth of The Band’s distinctively original Americana music, mixing well-known hits with obscure gems. They have performed “album shows” (The Band, Stage Fright), recreations of historic concerts (The Last Waltz, Woodstock, Watkins Glen Music Festival), and a special tribute to Bob Dylan.

“We don’t play our versions of The Band’s songs, we play their versions... to preserve the authenticity of their sound, their arrangements, and most importantly, the spirit of their live shows."

"Naylor remains one of the most superbly arresting vocalists around." - JazzTimes

"Naylor excels as a sensitive song interpreter with unerring intonation." - DownBeat

"Jacqui has a sumptuous voice, knack for scratchiness, and an ability to sweeten those bluesy bent notes." - Village Voice

This velvet-toned vocalist and songwriter is equally at ease singing music by Cole Porter and David Byrne as she is her own original music. Far from a straight-laced jazz purist, Naylor has made the mixing (and sometimes "smashing") of genres and eras her stock-in-trade, gaining fans and notoriety for singing the lyrics and melody of jazz standards over the grooves of well-known pop and rock songs and vice versa. "Naylor has brought new twists to the notion of melding jazz and pop tunes - without high-tech assistance," claims NPR.
