The name recalls another notorious duo of similar name, the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Now while it could be argued that that endeavor retraced already tread regions--their trip merely revealed what lay ahead to a new crowd. The same cannot be claimed for Wolff and Clark, whose music, while steeped in the rich history of American music, simultaneously blazes a trail fresh with virgin soil and fertile with sounds I guarantee you have never heard before. Friday 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm | Opener with Black Horse Riders | The FALCON 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
Black Horse Riders is the latest collaboration between singer and multi-instrumentalist Roland Hasbrouck and guitarist and co-writer and guitarist Tim Curtis-Verderosa. A full band has been assembled over the past year consisting of Jeremy Boniello on drums, Keir Zemaitis on bass, and featuring Libby Murphy on violin. The rhythm section pounds out melodic grooves allowing the violin to soar with emotion while the guitar brings a haunting and ambient element to the formerly acoustic driven songs. The pair previously co-fronted the popular earthy rock group Verdes. Black Horse Riders can be called ambient Americana with an implicit sense of historical moment. On their eponymous five-song EP, Black Horse Riders craft a dark, luminous folk rock that manages to feel epic, narrative and broad despite its modest length. Look for ten new songs to be released in January 2016. | ||
