It’s a warm June evening. Lush, tranquil gardens embrace a stone relic of generations past, the Medieval Mount, as the last of the day’s sunlight filters through a tall stand of cedars beyond, falling quietly among the grasses and greenery. You’ve entered the Sunken Garden, a placid retreat at the southeast corner of this Italianate campus and the setting for Guitar in the Garden, a serene and intimate listening experience offered each summer at Caramoor.

A stylistically gifted performer, Ana Vidovic returns to Caramoor for her second Guitar in the Garden appearance with works by Bach, Torroba, Takemitsu, and others. Praised for her eloquent communicative abilities and fluid virtuosity, Vidovic has presented over 1,000 recital programs since launching her classical guitar career to much acclaim more than twenty-five years ago.

Audiences relish the free-flowing synergy with artists this peaceful outdoor series allows. Experience pastoral listening at its finest with us.

Roots Music
Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts
149 Girdle Ridge Rd
Katonah, NY   See Map
Caramoor@KMA is a unique collaboration between two of the region’s most vital cultural resources that showcases early- to mid-career artists in a variety of genres. This series of performances takes place in the Katonah Museum of Art’s beautiful outdoor Sculpture Garden – a brief two-mile trek up the street from Caramoor – and are an ideal early-evening experience for families, picnickers, and adventurous music lovers. Complimentary wine and beer will be available.

The rollicking Roots outfit Spuyten Duyvil has become a staple of Caramoor’s annual American Roots Music Festival and an audience favorite. Katonah, NY   See Map
Widely considered one of the most exciting and progressive new crossover talents on the scene today, Jon Batiste infuses his own brand of contemporary jazz with soul, blues, hip-hop, and a touch of New Orleans-style groove. With a voice and piano chops as soulful as they are virtuosic – and a dapper sense of style to boot – this young phenom is reinventing what artistry means through “Social Music”, his uniquely new approach to performance and the title of his latest full-length album.

A descendent of New Orleans’ music royalty whose deep musical heritage helped to inspire HBO’s hit series, Treme, Batiste is both a fearless artist and a committed scholar. Before moving to New York to pursue a Masters in Music from Juilliard, this young star attended the prestigious New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. NOW the LAST Thursday each month! If you're a fan of "Sessions" (and who isn't) you know what a great night of music this is.

Join saxman and vocalist JP Patrick & his band as they play for each other, and for you. The band explores the musical territory of Blues, R&B, Funk and Jazz. Every installment of "Sessions" is unique, as JP often invites different musicians to sit in and perform.

Every month, there's a new dynamic on the stage. It may be a sit-down electric-acoustic night, or dueling drummers, or exceptional harmonies with 3 back-up singers. You never know what MAGIC may happen at one of JP's Sessions, but you will never be disappointed in the calibre of the music.

Tonight features JP on lead vocals, Blues harp & alto sax (and sometimes a little stand-up comedy!), Linda Geiger on drums and Paul Bisbano on bass, with special guests.

Help us pack the place tonight. Live music is truly a gift. And tonight, it's FREE.
