The acclaimed jazz duo Sonny Daye & Perley Rousseau will bring Brazilian Romance to Unison on June 20th. The duo, accompanied by Otto Gardner on upright bass, will capture the essence of the sultry romance and mesmerizing rhythm of Bossa Nova.
Sonny and Perley have spent the last several years developing and perfecting their unique blend of jazz, bossa nova, American songbook standards and international cabaret, which has become their musical signature. | John and Sheila Ludgate have been playing in clubs and pubs, coffee houses and music festivals for the past 12 years across Southern Ontario and into Montreal and the U.S. They have recorded four CD's of original material. Their newest CD - "Northern Soul" has generated numerous positive reviews (as have the others). The CD was nominated for Folk/Traditional Album Of The Year at the 2015 Hamilton Music Awards and the title track has won the Multicultural Category Award in Folk Music Ontario's Songs From The Heart competition. . The CD’s are family fusion projects bringing together the roots sounds of John & Sheila Ludgate with the more electric sounds of their sons – Luke, Anthony and Shane Ludgate, who belong to the popular alternative band Beautiful Nothing.
