| Bill & Kate Isles are a nationally-touring singer/songwriter duo based in Duluth, MN. In 1993, Bill was a rare survivor of Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Instead of ending his life, it jump-started his creative energies, resulting in a 150 show-per-year itinerary, presenting his profoundly meaningful songs. He is joined by his wife, co-writer, and musical collaborator, Kate. Her gentle presence, luscious vocals and intuitive harmonies have endeared her to audiences. Words like “Transcendent” and “Mesmerizing” and “Slapstick” are among the descriptions of their concerts and fans of all ages tell of listening to their albums over and over again. Their artistic motto is “It’s all about the audience”. Catbird is the musical duo Keith Newman (12-string guitar) and Lynn Reno (electric violin & fiddle). Veteran musicians Joe Gil (trombone), Neil Alexander (organ and keyboards) and Jason Furman (drums) have put together a new group called the "Thunderhead Organ Trio". The group is taking the concept of the organ trio in a new and different direction, drawing on many different influences and styles.
The group explores the grittier, rockier side of the genre referencing groups like the original Tony Williams Lifetime and mines the jazz standard repertoire for obscure gems and deep cuts. The group will be playing original tunes, jazz standards, lost classics and rare gems. | ||
