NY based singer/songwriter Dan Lavoie's style brings a fresh new sound to the table with influences of rock, folk, blues, classical and funk jam messed together to create what many have called traveling music. His music reflects personal life experiences, through heartache, pain, love and hope for a better future.

On his musical journey Dan embraced the path of a singer/songwriter while staying true to his electric roots creating a very unique sound, with a wide range of influences from Jack Jackson to Jimi Hendix, Chet Atkins, Grateful Dead, Amos Lee, Paul Simon, Duane Allman, Trey Anastasio, Cliff Burton to the Beatles,

Lavoie has made a name for himself touring heavily across the entire US using the road as a centerpiece for his creativity and inspiration. Dan made #7 on Hudson Valley's TOP TEN Best Concerts for his show at the Towne Crier Cafe.

Willy PorterThe FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
“Willy plays rhythms that make me want to crawl inside his guitar and sleep there forever.” — Tori Amos

“Willy Porter is perhaps best known as a down tuned six string wonder, but as a singer and a writer, and as a showman, he merits equal regard.” — Puremusic.com

“Thank goodness he doesn’t play the flute.” — Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull

Porter's songwriting is both lyrically rich and musically adventurous, and he is an accomplished finger-style guitarist, whose music moves easily from guitar-driven rock to the open-tuned wonderland of the new acoustic frontier. Live shows combine his guitar playing, songwriting and on-stage improvisational skills as a storyteller.

Willy’s latest CD, entitled Cheeseburgers & Gasoline, covers a lot of ground lyrically and musically. Willy captured this latest batch of songs as live animals - largely as they would be heard at a live show.

"Winard Harper is one of his generation's greatest standards bearers." Downbeat Magazine

Winard Harper has performed with some of the greatest names in jazz. At 20, he was playing the drums first with Dexter Gordon, and then Johnny Griffin, and honed his chops for the next four years under the tutelage of the late, great Betty Carter.

With his brother Philip Harper on trumpet, Winard led The Harper Brothers, one of the hottest groups of the post-bop era and produced the chart topping Remembrance: Live at the Village Vanguard.

Winard has released four CD's to his credit: Be Yourself (1994), Trap Dancer (1998), Winard (1999), and Faith with Carrie Smith (2000). He is one of the most sough-after sidemen on the jazz circuit; has been exploring African rhythms that influence his work, and is noted for his abilities on the cymbals, which under his hand become an outstanding solo instrument all their own.

with Bryan and the Aardvarks, Bryan Copeland, Camila Meza, Fabian Almazan, Chris Dingman, Jesse Lewis, Joe Nero
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Bryan Copeland formed Bryan and the Aardvarks in order to explore an inventive new sound that derived from his jazz training as well as his upbringing in pop and country music. The music he writes for the quartet combines a hushed intimacy with memorable, singable melodies and a narrative directness that nevertheless leaves space for expressive improvisation.

In vocalist Camila Meza, pianist Fabian Almazan, vibraphonist Chris Dingman, guitarist Jesse Lewis, and drummer Joe Nero, he has assembled a distinctive ensemble able to flesh out his unique compositions.

Copeland hit on the sound organically, while coping with the death of a close friend. He sat down at the piano one day and the shimmering melody of “Sunshine Through the Clouds” flowed out of him. Copeland recalls, “...I wasn’t really thinking about what I was playing. Something deep in my subconscious just came out, and that’s still the approach I take..."

AMG coined the term "HeaVy Mellow" in 2010 while recording their second album, "No Working Title" to put a name on the feeling. The band has consistently headlined at MAZZSTOCK - the biggest little festival in Upstate NY since 2008 - and plays the Hudson Valley circuit with six officially-active members, a small army of like-minded comrades, heart, soul, brain, and brawn.

Two-time Emmy Award Winner DAVID KRAMER will be premiering select segments of his definitive documentary on Jimi Hendrix, between sets of live Hendrix music performed by the band "Ducks Can Groove" direct from Sweden.

In 1967 following the Monterey Pop Festival, The Jimi Hendrix Experience was scheduled to play a week at the Fillmore West, opening for the Jefferson Airplane. After the first night it was decided that the Jefferson Airplane open for Jimi Hendrix! Tonight we continue that tradition as Reverend Jefferson opens for Ducks Can Groove!

Twenty years in the making, and nearly 400 on-camera interviews with some of the biggest names in music of the twentieth century, Kramer's documentary is truly the most complete, definitive documentary ever assembled on Hendrix.

"We got a sneak peek preview of this documentary masterpiece recently, and we were amazed by what we saw, heard and learned." - HITTIN' THE NOTE MAGAZINE

Blues, Swing/Jump, Big Band. Swing/Jump
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Duchess Di is back in town, with her band of renown! The band has been a 12 Grapes favorite for years and we're excited for this one-night only reunion. Special guest, Elliot Bear!

The band features JP Patrick, Dave McDowell and Steve Gottleib on horns, Mike G on double-bass, Hank DeCora on guitar (sporting his two-tone shoes), Scott Staton on keyboards and Duchess Di at center stage. They will drive you to distraction with their unique style of risque Blues, Swing and Jump, and American roots music like Rockabilly and early Rock and Roll.

In true '40's Diva style, Duchess Di gets all dolled up in tight-fitting dresses, a gardenia tucked into her hair. The show they put on--with drama and style--makes for the most entertaining evening you'll ever have!

Duchess Di & the Distractions ... They're "red hot and real gone!"
