Soñando!
Latin
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
The hot, wild and joyful sounds of Soñando have earned them the reputation as the Hudson Valley's premier Latin band. Their spicy blend of music and musicians have performed in clubs, at private funtions, community festivals, benefit concerts, on radio and television, as well as the Puerto Rico Day Parade in NYC, but the band is at home wherever a dance floor can be cleared. Fueled by a fiery rhythm section and high-octane horns, Soñando plays a wide variety of Latin styles from Plena and Son to Salsa and Merengue!

"The name of the band is Spanish for "dreaming" but when the hordes come out for Soñando, they don't sleepwalk - they dance. And we're not talking a few perfunctory head-bobs or butt-wiggles, they dance until they go up in flames, like Tula's unquenchable bedroom in the Cuban lyrics..." - Woodstock Times

New York Uproar
Blues, Motown/R&B
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
New York Uproar brings together some of Westchester's finest musicians to keep alive the high energy, horn driven, rock, soul and blues of the 60's and 70's.

Their passion and energy for this music is immediately evident whether it's a Motown hit, Stax classic or any of the horn driven hits by the classic "Horn" bands like Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears or Tower of Power.

The Band members collective experiences bridge the gamut from Broadway to recording sessions and from cruise ships to regional and national touring bands.

The true highlight of New York Uproar is their horn section. These guys are the "Real Deal" with years of Broadway, Big Band and club date experience. They deliver the powerful sound that only a pro horn section can. Whether it is the unmistakable horn line from songs such as Chicago's "Beginnings" or the Sam and Dave classic "Soul Man" these guys nail it every time!

Admission $15. For reservations call 914-737-1701
Reservations held until start of show.

Alternative/Psych-Folk in Rosendale
with The Warp/The Weft
Alternative, Folk/Traditional, and Rock (progressive)
Market Market Cafe
1 Madeline Lane
Rosendale, NY   See Map
"This band has the creativity and individualistic, genre-bending spark that makes them a must-hear in this decade." --DC Rock Live

"On Wind of Hours Unwinding, Poughkeepsie’s The Warp/The Weft align themselves in one deft stroke with the great tradition of British progressive folk and the psychedelia of the Isles: the spectral, chamber-folk colors of Fairport Convention or Steeleye Span and such modern heirs as the Decembrists. Most of all, The Warp/The Weft’s big-bottomed folk/rock evokes the electrified Anglo-core of Jethro Tull: pre-Grammy, pre-suck. Even when this record rocks (and it does often, at times thunderously; “Medicine In” could almost be described as pirate metal), it rocks with a rounded, seafaring quality, due in part to the band’s predilection for 6/8 and ¾ time signatures and in part due to singer/songwriter Shane Murphy’s ghostly and lilting vocals, which keep one foot always firmly planted in the clouds." --John Burdick, Hudon Valley Almanac Weekly

"Guitarist & fiddler David Bromberg is a legend in roots music circles, a genuine guitar virtuoso & session ace whose quirky mystique has been burnished by periodic withdrawals from the public eye... " - Rick Anderson / Allmusic

A successful solo spot at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival in Great Britain led Bromberg to a solo deal with Columbia Records, & his 1971 album, including the mock-anguished “Suffer to Sing the Blues". The album also included "The Holdup,” - a collaboration with George Harrison, who played slide guitar on the track. David also met the Grateful Dead & wound up with four of their members, including Jerry Garcia, playing on his next two albums.

The release of "Try Me One More Time", in 2007,David was playing shows with his Angel Band, the David Bromberg Quartet, & the David Bromberg Big Band. His album "Use Me", features friends like John Hiatt, the late Levon Helm, Los Lobos, Tim O’Brien, Vince Gill, Widespread Panic, Dr. John, Keb’ Mo’ & others.
