...Tony Falco, owner of the Falcon: “We went to the same elementary school. In fact, I was David’s paperboy in 1969..."!

David Johansen began his career as the singer of the protopunk band the New York Dolls in the early '70s. Two solo albums, 'David Johansen' and 'In Style' delivered some standout tracks. "Frenchette" and "Funky But Chic." Later, Johansen's pseudonym and alter ego, Buster Poindexter, appeared with Saturday Night Live's House Band, scoring the hit song "Hot Hot Hot".

Johansen turned his attention to country blues with the release of 'David Johansen and the Harry Smiths.' David continues to host David Johansen's Mansion of Fun, a weekly radio show on Sirius and he has returned to touring as Buster Poindexter!

Multi-instrumentalist, Brian Koonin, who has been with David through projects including the NewYork Dolls and The Harry Smiths will accompany David on guitar and drums.

Opening Act!
with Jim Keller, Scott Metzger
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
As the man behind one of the most enduring and entertaining artifacts of the 80's, Jim Keller could easily have fallen into the formula for a "rock star" narrative - quick rise, overexposure, regrets, and all - thanks to "867-5309/Jenny", Keller's smash hit anthem with the San Francisco band Tommy Tutone, of which he was a co-founder. But rather than giving in to the rock and roll fate, Jim Keller forged his own path and, essentially, grew up.

After over a decade away from the performance side of the music business, Keller embarked on his first solo project as a musician in 2010. With its honest, easy-going tone, the catchy collective, Sunshine In My Pocket, evidenced his move forward as an artist. Keller's latest project, Soul Candy, recorded with members of his current live band and assorted friends, stands as a tribute to the ever-evolving story of a performing musician; documenting the alluring energy of Keller's live shows.

Americana, Bluegrass
RIVER SPIRIT MUSIC
Hastings-on-Hudson, NY   See Map
“Fans of Dixie Chicks, Alison Krauss and Dolly Parton, take notice: Nora Jane Struthers embodies everything you could want in an Americana singer-songwriter.” - NPR Music

Virginia-born Struthers was educated at NYU’s Steinhart School of Education and taught at a charter school in Brooklyn, while cutting her musical teeth as a folk-rock performer in New York clubs like CBGBs and the Cutting Room. She decided to move into music full-time after attending such convocations as Virginia’s Galax Old Time Fiddlers Convention and North Carolina’s Mount Airy Fiddlers Convention with her father. Nora Jane Struthers & The Party Line have performed at the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival and Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion.

The instrumentation and form of Struthers’ music draws on her traditionalist roots – her father is himself a bluegrass musician – but with the addition of drums, her latest album takes a bend toward more progressive roots-rock bands like Mumford & Sons and The Avett Brothers.

When Anne & JT first performed together, there was an immediate chemistry between them. They've been collaborating ever since. Their sound is cool and contemporary; their harmonies extraordinary.

With a repertoire that recreates the fresh, folksy, foot-stomping style of singer/songwriters like Johnnyswim, Marcus Mumford, Newton Faulkner, Civil Wars and Local Natives, Anne & JT have developed a sound that's completely their own. And it's truly something special.

Anne is a frequent performer at our Open Mics, was a featured singer at our 1,000th performance and is active in her Church Choir, where she recently performed a classic hymn by Mendelssohn. JT is a graduate of the prestigious School of Music at Ithaca College (Sound Recording & Technology). He's a songwriter and accomplished musician who performs contemporary Rock, Jazz & Classical guitar.

Two of our favorite artists celebrating our 6th Anniversary! We can't wait!

Sculptor Sydney Cash mounts a three month ”work-in-progress” exhibition at The Falcon in Marlboro NY, beginning February 2014.

The show will feature Cash’s new dimensional paintings and portraits in space-modulating installations. Some pieces will span the entire width of the club. Some will include the tables, integrating elements of his light sculpture to the surprise and delight of the Falcon audience!

What does this Work-in-Progress mean? It means the show is alive. It will change frequently as Cash respond to the space, the music and the experience on a weekly basis.

Sydney Cash's studios are nearby in Marlboro. With a key to the club, his work-in-progress may happen at any time, day or night. This is a very special opportunity for the artist, whose experimental ideas will be manipulated in continuing improvisation, complimenting the music being performed, and engaging an audience that wants to be thrilled with “all that jazz”.

Featuring Larry Coryell/Guitar, Gil Parris/Guitar, Thierry Arpino/Drums and Kip Sophos/Bass

The Legendary Larry Coryell, jazz guitar innovator & pioneer of jazz - rock fusion comes together with Grammy nominated rock, blues, jazz guitar virtuoso Gil Parris for an incredible evening of music in a benefit concert to support Ben Ehrsam & Family.

During the weekend of August 2-4, festival organizer Ben Ehrsam's home and office were burglarized while the family was running their music festival, A Bear's Picnic. While the damage to their home was substantial, it was nothing compared to the emotional and financial toll exacted from the Ehrsam family. Join us tonight in solidarity with an important member of our music community.

15 year old Dylan Doyle has been steeped in everything from Robert Johnson, Townes Van Zandt, and Lightin' Hopkins to Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Hendrix. From this comes a unique musical interpretation that lies within the delta of rock, rockabilly, and the blues.

The Righteous Brothers’ raw emotional R&B sound not only created the genre “Blue-Eyed Soul”, but the very term was coined specifically for them. Combining the density of Phil Spector’s “Wall of Sound” production with Bill Medley’s deep, rich, powerful baritone created a totally original sound that still resonates today. BMI ranked You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ as having had more television and radio airplay than any other song in history!

In 2003, The Righteous Brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Three #1, Seven Top 10 & Thirteen Billboard Top 40 Hits including:

Hit songs include: You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’ (three time chart topper), (I’ve had)
