 Sculptor Sydney Cash mounts a three month ”work-in-progress” exhibition at The Falcon in Marlboro NY, beginning February 2014.
The show will feature Cash’s new dimensional paintings and portraits in space-modulating installations. Some pieces will span the entire width of the club. Some will include the tables, integrating elements of his light sculpture to the surprise and delight of the Falcon audience!
What does this Work-in-Progress mean? It means the show is alive. It will change frequently as Cash respond to the space, the music and the experience on a weekly basis.
Sydney Cash's studios are nearby in Marlboro. With a key to the club, his work-in-progress may happen at any time, day or night. This is a very special opportunity for the artist, whose experimental ideas will be manipulated in continuing improvisation, complimenting the music being performed, and engaging an audience that wants to be thrilled with “all that jazz”. |

 Dan Bern is best known as a prolific songwriter and electric performer who has released a dozen albums.
Since 2007, Bern has focused much of his talent and sharp wit on writing songs for movies and other projects. He composed over a dozen songs for the Jake Kasdan/Judd Apatow spoof-biopic Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story and wrote the title song for Jonathan Demme’s documentary, Jimmy Carter: Man From Plains. Bern also composed songs that are included in the Judd Apatow film Get Him to the Greek, and he has had songs featured on the CW show Hellcats.
Since 2009, Bern has self-released 2 live albums, a children's album Two Feet Tall, his first studio album in 6 years Drifter, an album of baseball songs Doubleheader, and an album based on the writings of Everett Ruess Wilderness Song, which will serve as the soundtrack for a Jonathan Demme-produced documentary of the same name.

Phillips, who is Muskogee (Creek), elliptically explores the intersection of past and present, personal and political. While the songs delve deeply into the subconscious mystery of his own backstory, they simultaneously reveal the resonance and insight of ancient myth in parallel to contemporary man’s emotions, actions, and errors.

The Poughkeepsie Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild continues its 2014 coffeehouse series on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Unitarian Fellowship, South Randolph Ave., Poughkeepsie. The coffeehouse performances start at 7:30 pm with an open mic format followed by the featured performer, Jane March.
Jane March is a singer-songwriter who hails from Poughkeepsie. She has gained acclaim for her original songs and has been one of several local area artists participating in “Summer Songs”, a week long festival of songwriters engaged in
creative projects where the end product is a new song. Jane features a strong voice and
accompanies herself on guitar. Many of her songs are topical and cover many of the
contemporary issues of the day.

 Rhythm in the Night is an epic journey derived from a tale of good versus evil where deception reigns and temptation rivals the strongest of wills.
The tale of Rhythm in the Night is told through Irish dance with a world class troupe of male and female dancers. Adding to the drama and excitement of the production, Rhythm in the Night features an original soundtrack that delivers an orchestral atmosphere of epic proportions. The battle scenes transcend the struggle of dark versus light as lightning fast rhythms and a thunderous dance troupe display Irish dance like never seen before. Rhythm in the Night offers a grand, full scale 90-minute production. Rhythm in the Night will be a performance the entire family can enjoy, as it turns an age-old art form into the most exciting Irish dance spectacular ever to be experienced.

The show will feature Cash’s new dimensional paintings and portraits in space-modulating installations. Some pieces will span the entire width of the club. Some will include the tables, integrating elements of his light sculpture to the surprise and delight of the Falcon audience!
What does this Work-in-Progress mean? It means the show is alive. It will change frequently as Cash respond to the space, the music and the experience on a weekly basis.
Sydney Cash's studios are nearby in Marlboro. With a key to the club, his work-in-progress may happen at any time, day or night. This is a very special opportunity for the artist, whose experimental ideas will be manipulated in continuing improvisation, complimenting the music being performed, and engaging an audience that wants to be thrilled with “all that jazz”. |

 The High Falls Café marks the halfway point in it's current series of "Jazz At The Falls" Sunday brunches with "The Metropolitan Hot Club".
The "Metropolitan Hot Club" is a gypsy jazz band that plays the hot swing of the 30s and 40s. Steeped in the gypsy jazz tradition, the group celebrates the music made popular by legendary guitarist, Django Reinhardt, and jazz violinist, Stephane Grappelli. An impressive repertoire of period music, along with newer favorites and a growing body of original compositions, make for an unforgettable listening, experience. And be sure to bring your dancing shoes!
The High Falls Café will offer their breakfast and lunch menus as well as service from the Cafe's full bar. There's no cover charge for "Jazz At The Falls", Sunday brunches however, the hat is passed for donations.

 Ray Longchamp started banging on a Sears guitar at age 6. Guitar lessons and the Beatles coming to America two years later started him on his musical journey.
His stylistic scope and repertoire are vast and varied. Solo gigs feature virtuoso finger style playing, overlaid lead guitar parts, and warm vocals, with the ability to take requests all night. Duos feature great harmonies, and instrumental improvisation. All styles are covered- rock, jazz, rhythm & blues, country.
He plays with the Allman Brothers Tribute band, The Peach Project, that he founded. He also has been lead guitarist for rock & roll legends and multi- gold record winners, Jay and The Americans, touring North America extensively.

 For more than six decades, the legendary Bucky Pizzarelli has had a stellar career. “The complete jazz musician”, he was a fixture in jazz and the studios since the early ‘50s. The list of big bands and vocalists with whom Bucky has performed and recorded reads like a veritable Who’s Who of Jazz. One of the era’s most solid rhythm players, Pizzarelli was in high demand, playing and touring. His superior mastery of the seven-string guitar is unparalleled.
Ed is a seven-string guitarist and vocalist, performing in concerts and clubs throughout the New York area, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Feinstein’s, Smalls Jazz Club, The Iridium, Birdland, PNC Arts Center, Bickford Theatre, NJ-PAC, Berrie Performing Arts Center, and Les Paul Museum. Early 2013, he released his first CD with Bucky Pizzarelli.
