 The Ed Palermo Big Band, an 18 piece ensemble of five woodwind players, four trumpeters, three trombonists, two keyboardists, guitar, violin, bass and drums, is led by alto saxophonist and arranger Ed Palermo, with much of the same personnel spanning 30 years, performing the music of Frank Zappa for 20 years. No one does it with the ease, skill and originality of Ed's band! An impressive feat in itself!
'Oh No! Not Jazz!!' consists of two albums - the first explores Ed's distinctive interpretations of Frank Zappa's work and works from original Mothers Of Invention. The second album features Ed's own riotous, colorful compositions, featured here for the first time in over 25 years!
This double album shows that, despite the financial and practical difficulties of running a very large band, there are many musical voices in a big band for showcasing arrangements. This is an exciting listen for fans of Frank Zappa and all adventurerers in rock and jazz music. |

Evan cites Indigo Girls, Bob Dylan, Ritchie Havens, The Allman Bros Band, Neil Young, Peter Paul Mary, The Patti Smith Group, Pink Floyd, David Wilcox, Crosby Stills & Nash and James Taylor as his influences. His song writing style is as eclectic as the instruments he plays. Evan Teatum has recorded and performed with 2007 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Patti Smith.

 Brodie is a sax player who gets right down to the true nitty gritty. An artist who coaxes every ounce of emotion from his instrument as only a true jazz player can. He is spiritual beyond words in his approach to his craft and even in brief conversation. Brodie emerges as a courteous and affable gentleman - “cool," in the context of an old-school jazzman who knows his stuff like an artisan of another time.
In the 80's Brodie landed a gig with one of his heroes, Illinois Jacquet. But, after only a few years with Jacquet, Brodie decided that he needed to play his own music. He has since created two CD's, "Unforgettable Sax" and "Songs For Anu." He has studied astral projection and applied it to music. This combination of astrology and music has made "Unforgettable Sax" very popular in Europe.
He has developed his own peaceful beliefs that have become integral to his music, centered around a "no hate" policy. |

He recently performed at The Iridium in Times Square and opened for Buddy Guy at the Ridgefield Playhouse. He's played at some of the top venues in New York City; BB Kings & the Iridum Jazz Club in Times Square, The Cutting Room, Tera Blues, The Red Lion, South Street Seaport, Madison Square Garden (Knick's Half-Time Show) and many others throughout the Tri State area.  Keyboardist Dave Keyes has been on the Blues scene for over 20 years, performing with some of the most important figures in Blues, Roots and Folk music like Popa Chubby, Larry Campbell (Levon Helm, Bob Dylan), Gladys Knight and the late, great Lou Rawls. For 6 years, he was conductor for the Broadway hit "Smokey Joe's Cafe" and is a featured performer on their Grammy-winning soundtrack album.
Tonight, Dave is joined by special guest, Blues harmonica legend, Rob Paparozzi. Rob toured the world with the "Original Blues Brothers Band" and was frontman-lead singer for the legendary band, "Blood Sweat and Tears". The band also includes Sue Williams, Frank Pagano and George Naha.
If you're ready for some foot-stompin' Blues and (to quote the Village Voice) "two-fisted pianistics", don't miss The Dave Keyes Band.
