Jazz. Acoustic-Indie
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Saxophonist, songwriter, singer, bandleader and educator, Jesse Scheinin’s sound is anchored in instrumental jazz , but reaches across genres to the acoustic-indie sound. He’s sewn jazz into the lining of his music in "Fall Asleep" (EP). The title song is a lullaby backed by a nine-piece band with five saxophones!

''There are a lot of talented kids out there, but there’s something special about [Jesse] that goes beyond what he’s playing on the saxophone,” - Tenor sax man Joshua Redman

He is the leader of the band Jesse and Forever. Part David Bowie, part Coltrane Quartet, they play new music. A Forever concert is theatrical, surreal and exuberant. Their debut record will be released on New Cull Records. He called on friends from around the globe, all of whom he had met at Berklee College of Music, to form the Forever Band.

At the Falcon, he'll be joined by drummer Vishal Nayak and pianist/organist Jake Sherman.

Blues. Rockabilly
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
The Chris O'Leary Band's music is rooted in the blues with shades of New Orleans, rockabilly and big, high-energy sound. Levon Helm can be heard in Chris's early sessions, and sitting in with regular gigs. Soon, Levon asked Chris to join the house band at his new club in New Orleans. Chris’s band relocated and became the focal point of Levon Helm's Barn Burners, backing up touring stars and opening for New Orleans' finest players.

Chris continued to tour with the Barn Burners and in 2007, formed a new band, including fellow Barn Burner Frankie Ingrao on bass, guitarist Chris Vitarello (already known from his tasty, incendiary work with the Bruce Katz Band), and drummer Sean McCarthy. O'Leary's band was a big hit at The Falcon’s first New Year's Eve Celebration, and continues to impress our music savvy crowd.

15 year old Dylan Doyle has been steeped in everything from Robert Johnson, Townes Van Zandt, and Lightin' Hopkins to Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Hendrix. From this comes a unique musical interpretation that lies within the delta of rock, rockabilly, and the blues. He has been chosen for the line-up at the 2013 King Biscuit Blues Festival, one of the biggest in the country.

His mentor Rob Stoner, Bob Dylan's former band leader and bassist on Don McClean's recording, "American Pie", says "Dylan is the most prodigious guitarist he has taught in his almost 50 years of teaching music.

JP has been on the Blues music scene for years, and is a tremendously talented front-man, vocalist and songwriter. He plays Blues harp and alto sax, and always performs with passion and energy. His audiences feel it... and love it. His original songs are full of wit and charm. If asked who Casey Buckley sounds like, you’ll likely answer: Casey Buckley. An amalgam of sounds old and new, you could easily place him in a small town café or a big city concert hall. He’s played both - along with everything in between.

Listen closer, you’ll begin to notice the sweet voice of James Taylor lilting over the thoughtful fingerstyle of Ryan Bingham. The lyrical quality of John Mayer makes its presence known – whether on these pensive pieces or a powerful belt.

Johansen began his career as the singer of the protopunk band the New York Dolls in the early '70s. Johansen then embarked on a solo career, performing frequently with Sylvain Sylvain. Later, Johansen's pseudonym and alter ego, Buster Poindexter, appeared with Saturday Night Live's House Band, scoring the hit song "Hot Hot Hot". David continues to host David Johansen's Mansion of Fun, a weekly radio show on Sirius.

Internationally recognized recording artist, Lee Delray, has been touring with his band since 1998. His sound has been described as a ferocious mix of Albert King, Albert Collins, Luther Allison, B.B. King and Alvin Lee, rolled into one - from big fat gut-bucket shuffles to that funky Stax sound.

This year he debuted his original CD, "570-BLUES", ( named for his area code) and has received critical acclaim from promoters, fans and radio around the globe. " 570-BLUES " is better than 95% of all the self-produced CD's I receive each year." - Bruce Iglauer/Alligator Records

Delray was the supporting act for harp legend, James Cotton, at Stanhope House NJ, and supporting headliner to Johnny Winter at the Centenary College Blues Festival. "Very strong player and vocalist.” - Bluesleaf recording artist , Johnny Charles “One Bad Mutha.” -Slam Allen (James Cotton Band) “Delray Rocks.” - Popa Chubby/King of New York City Blues
