 The Chris O'Leary Band's music is rooted in the blues with shades of New Orleans, rockabilly and big, high-energy sound. Levon Helm can be heard in Chris's early sessions, and sitting in with regular gigs. Soon, Levon asked Chris to join the house band at his new club in New Orleans. Chris’s band relocated and became the focal point of Levon Helm's Barn Burners, backing up touring stars and opening for New Orleans' finest players.
Chris continued to tour with the Barn Burners and in 2007, formed a new band, including fellow Barn Burner Frankie Ingrao on bass, guitarist Chris Vitarello (already known from his tasty, incendiary work with the Bruce Katz Band), and drummer Sean McCarthy. O'Leary's band was a big hit at The Falcon’s first New Year's Eve Celebration, and continues to impress our music savvy crowd. |

 15 year old Dylan Doyle has been steeped in everything from Robert Johnson, Townes Van Zandt, and Lightin' Hopkins to Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Hendrix. From this comes a unique musical interpretation that lies within the delta of rock, rockabilly, and the blues. He has been chosen for the line-up at the 2013 King Biscuit Blues Festival, one of the biggest in the country.
His mentor Rob Stoner, Bob Dylan's former band leader and bassist on Don McClean's recording, "American Pie", says "Dylan is the most prodigious guitarist he has taught in his almost 50 years of teaching music.

The band explores the musical territory of Blues, R&B, Funk and Jazz. Every installment of "Sessions" is unique, as JP often invites different musicians to sit in and perform.
JP has been on the Blues music scene for years, and is a tremendously talented front-man, vocalist and songwriter. He plays Blues harp and alto sax, and always performs with passion and energy. His audiences feel it... and love it. His original songs are full of wit and charm. Songs like "Simple Request (Stop Breaking My Balls)" and "Shy of Indigo" showcase his talents as a funky Blues musician who's taking his art to the next level.

 Johansen began his career as the singer of the protopunk band the New York Dolls in the early '70s. Johansen then embarked on a solo career, performing frequently with Sylvain Sylvain. Two solo albums, 'David Johansen' and' In Style' delivered some standout tracks. "Frenchette" and "Funky But Chic" became associated with the Dolls, although they first appeared on the solo albums.
Later, Johansen's pseudonym and alter ego, Buster Poindexter, appeared with Saturday Night Live's House Band, scoring the hit song "Hot Hot Hot".
Johansen turned his attention to country blues with the release of 'David Johansen and the Harry Smiths' and also reunited with New York Dolls members in 2005. David continues to host David Johansen's Mansion of Fun, a weekly radio show on Sirius.
Multi-instrumentalist, the amazing Brian Koonin, who has been with David through projects including the NewYork Dolls and The Harry Smiths will accompany David on guitar and drums.

On Sunday, September 8th at 1:00 PM, WAMC, in partnership with The Paramount Hudson Valley presents Pete Seeger, “Return To Peekskill” Live Concert at The Paramount Hudson Valley (1008 Brown Street, Peekskill, NY 10566).
This concert is a very special thank you to the generous supporter of WAMC during the recent June Fund Drive!
On behalf of Alan and all the staff at WAMC, we’re grateful for your gift to help keep the station going strong. With that, we are thrilled to be able to show our gratitude in a special way, thanks to WAMC’s dear friend Pete Seeger. Pete knows how vital WAMC’s news and programming are to our area. He wanted to help, as he has so many times in the past.
Doors open at 11:30 AM, show starts at 1:00 PM. This event is General Admission. No tickets will be mailed, rather ticket(s) will be held at Will Call in your name at the venue the day of the concert.

 Lydia Pidlusky will be performing with a wonderful group of jazz musicians this Sunday, August 8th, from 1:30-2:30, at the 3rd Annual Wholistic Health Fair held at Elting Memorial Library in New Paltz, NY. The other musicians include Christian Joao on saxophone, Steve Raleigh on guitar, and Chris Macchia on bass, who has recently returned from a tour to Egypt! Come out to support the Library and hear some great music... it's free! Here is the description of the event, excerpted from Elting Memorial Library's website:
Free admission and musical entertainment! Come explore offerings from regional providers of Reiki, Naturopathic/Chinese medicine, Reflexology, Yoga, Accupuncture, Iridology, Hypnotism and more... A great opportunity to meet and talk with practitioners. Continual live entertainment. The event takes place on both Saturday and Sunday, noon to 5pm (but the best time to be there is Sunday at 1:30!).

 Sara is a NY based singer/songwriter with an incredible voice and soothingly warm spirit. After taking a hiatus from singing to raise her family, Sara has recently returned to performing. Past performances have included NYC clubs like the Bitter End and CBGB. Each time Sara takes our stage, we are completely riveted.
Tara Dougherty is a singer/songwriter who combines soulful vocals with a Folk flavor. Tara's been playing on the NYC circuit for years, exciting audiences with her poetic lyrics. Even her songs of heartbreak are beautiful. "When we fall, if we break, it's the way we're made and the chance we take."
