This spicy blend of music and musicians have performed in clubs, at private functions, community festivals, benefit concerts, on radio and television, as well as the Puerto Rico Day Parade in NYC, but the band is at home wherever a dance floor can be cleared. Fueled by a fiery rhythm section and high-octane horns, Soñando plays a wide variety of Latin styles from Plena and Son to Salsa and Merengue!

"The name of the band is Spanish for "dreaming" but when the hordes come out for Soñando, they don't sleepwalk-they dance. And we're not talking a few perfunctory head-bobs or butt-wiggles, they dance until they go up in flames like, Tula's unquenchable bedroom in the Cuban lyrics above." -Woodstock Times

Cheryl Lynne Skinner—flautist, vocalist, pianist and composer—combines a myriad of styles, including Jazz, R&B, Latin-American, African and classical to achieve her unique smooth contemporary sound. Skinner refers to herself as a sound synthesist and her music as contemporary M.U.S.E. (Music Unleashed from Soul Experience).

Cheryl has produced innovative concerts including "Afrocentricity" as part of the Orpheus Classical Music Series in Chicago, pioneering the first inclusion of a jazz trio and synthesizer performance to that series. She was included in the "African American Composers Live" exhibition at Belmont Mansion in Philadelphia; her music has been played on radio stations around the country; her "Sunday Afternoon" CD was included on the play list on the Spirit of Jazz program on Washington DC's WPFW and, continuing her passionate commitment to original music, Skinner is currently promoting her contemporary flute CD release "Shades of Blue".
