 Eric Andersen first came to prominence as a performer in Greenwich Village in the early 1960s and immediately became part of the Village folk and songwriter scene along with Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton, Dave Van Ronk, and Bob Dylan, and became one of the founders of the singer songwriter movement. He's co-written songs with Bob Weir, Townes Van Zandt, Rick Danko, and Lou Reed. His songs have been covered by many artists including Mary Chapin Carpenter, Judy Collins, Fairport Convention, Linda Ronstadt, Peter, Paul & Mary, The Blues Project, Gillian Welch and Linda Thompson. In April 2011 The Cologne Concert was released on CD and Vinyl on Meyer Records (Rough Trade). The live CD features Eric's wife Inge Andersen on harmonies and he is accompanied on violin by Michele Gazich.

 Steve's been singing and playing guitar since he was knee high to a Gibson J-200.
He studied acting while attending NYU and studied with Robert Perillo and
Stella Adler among others. He performed Off Off Off Off Broadway, in Houston Texas,
in Myrtle Beach South Carolina, all the while carrying a guitar and note pad, scribbling
lyrics, scratching them out, scribbling new ones.
In 1998, after a twenty year gestation period, the songs started to come. 2003 found
Steve a Kerrville New Folk finalist. In 2005 his song "This Old Town" received
honorable mention from the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival. He began recording his
debut C.D. with friend, mentor and producer Fred Gillen, Jr. in early 2006,
which was completed in early 2007 and released in September of that year to good airplay
on many folk radio programs. He has showcased at Northeast Regional Folk Alliance in New York.

 Brian Fitzpatrick back in October of 2001. He had traveled to CT in support of a friend and fellow musician I’d come quite a distance to see myself. I had heard of Brian months before, via a fan so convinced of his musical excellence he actually gave me (a complete stranger, mind you) both Fitzpatrick albums that had been released to date…discs that clearly evidenced an ability for songwriting. But it wasn’t until this much later opportunity to hear him live that I fully began to grasp the depth of Brian’s talents. Songs like “I Can’t Be Your Savior” from his 1998 debut album, Other Side and “Caroline” from its 2000 follow-up When I Bleed, took on a whole new life when witnessed in their purest communicative form – merely voice, guitar and the spirit behind the compositions permitted to touch audience .

and the San Francisco Blues Festival, among others.

Blues Buddha was a finalist for The NY Blues and Jazz Society IBC Battle of the Bands in 2010. The band includes Chip Lairson on guitar (who's performed with notable performers such as Dr. John, Maria Muldauer, Buddy Miles and more), Al Payson on bass (Grammy winner on his work with Jose Feliciano), Joe Piteo on drums and Pete Dehoff on keys.

Unlike their predecessors of the late 80’s, bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Rage Against The Machine, & Soundgarden began writing darker/ heavier music filled with angst and pain, an influence that can still be heard in many modern rock bands today.

photographer, Amy has been playing (classical & folk) guitar,
singing & writing songs since age nine. Amy's voice has been
deemed "truly unique... unlike anyone's I've ever heard."
Amy's original songs vary in scope and topic, including "Back
and Forth," which focuses on a love that cannot be,
"Connor," about a pained ex-patriot from Northern Ireland,
and "The Francie Chair," about a single mom who puts a
positive spin on things.
"Iloveyou Iloveyou Iloveyou Iloveyou," is dedicated to
Amy's late husband, TERENCE MARTIN, esteemed singersongwriter,
published poet, beloved literature teacher and
celebrated recording artist, who passed away on
November 7, 2011 (in Amy's & their childrens' arms), after
a sudden, fearless and bold three-month battle
with pancreatic cancer. Terence will be remembered and
celebrated on this show. |
