Saxophonist, Eric Person, bassist, Joseph Lepore and drummer, Shinnisuke Takahashi play with an uncommon unity, a big full sound that.respects the great roots of Jazz and reaches beyond them to create their own unique sound. Their interchange is paramount and their music includes a wide spectrum of expressions, textures, linear devices, and colorations.

Eric Person, Saxophonist, leader of the jazz band Meta-Four and the rhythm and groove band Metamorphosis, has produced eight CD's as a leader. He has recorded and performed with legends such as Dave Holland, Chico Hamilton and McCoy Tyner. Joseph Lepore, Bassist has played with world class musicians such as JD Allen Marc Copland, Mark Turner, Terri Lynn Carrington, and Greg Osby. Shinnisuke Takahashi, Drummer studied with Masahiko Osaka and Tommy Campbell and has performed with Terumasa Hino, Fumio, Karashima, Eric Lewis, among others. He is also a member of Yosuke Yamashita 4G Unit and Marcus Printup's Soul Mission.

Tara Dougherty is a singer/songwriter who combines soulful vocals with a Folk flavor. Tara's been playing on the New York City circuit for several years exciting audiences with her poetic lyrics. Even her songs of heartbreak are beautiful. "When we fall, if we break, it's the way we're made and the chance we take. Cause we're still too young to bend that way... When I go, I'll ask you to stay, cause I'm too weak to bear this break again." Aside from writing and performing music, Tara is the Music Editor at Irish America Magazine.

Rich Kelly is a singer, bassist and guitarist who plays solo and as a sideman in many ensembles. He's been showcased on local TV shows such as The Working Musician. Rich is a frequent performer at our Singer/Songwriter Showcases. Rich performs both originals and covers with an infectious style that keeps us, and his fans, coming back for more.

British born James Maddock was first recognized in the U.S as leader of the band Wood (Songs From Stamford Hill - Columbia Records) and has been living on Manhattan's Lower East Side making great music for the better part of the 2000's .The acclaimed Songs From Stamford Hill, which remains a fan favorite 10 years later, produced a Top 5 Triple A hit (Stay You) and was included in the first Dawson's Creek compilation.

After taking an extended break from record making Maddock returned to the scene in late 2009 with the exquisite collection of songs, Sunrise On Avenue C, for which he won the 2010-11 NY Music Award for Best Americana Album. Maddock followed Sunrise in 2011 with Wake Up and Dream. James continues to tour extensively and recently shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen at the Light of Day festival in Asbury Park

He will release a new song and video as an iTunes exclusive called "My Old Neighborhood" in early 2012. Stay tuned!

Special Screening of an important new documentary - Wish Me Away, a documentary about country singer Chely Wright, the first country singer to come out as gay.

The documentary follows Wright’s struggle with her sexuality beginning with her rise in fame during the 1990’s through the moment she decided to come out as gay. Highlighting her upbringing in a Christian family and the homophobia within the country music industry of Nashville, the documentary chronicles Wright’s ability to overcome the stereotype of homosexuality and the belief that being gay is wrong.

This film will have a reception at 7pm with the screening beginning at 7:30pm on March 1st.

Following the film, there will be a discussion with the Producers/Directors Bobbie Birleffi and Beverly Kopf. Tickets are $12, $10 for students.

The word teitur means the happy one in Old Norse. You probably don't need to know that but you should certainly know about Teitur, the singer-songwriter from the Faroe Islands. Teitur (born Teitur Lassen 1977 in Hoyvík) started out as lead singer in the Faroese band Mark No Limits but after having quickly gained a reputation at home, left the Faroe Islands for Copenhagen at the age of 17 to pursue a solo career.

Three albums later, with appearances on MTV his music featured in TV and movie soundtracks and thanks to his unceasing touring, a loyal fan base, the popularity of his videos on YouTube and a whole host of supportive bloggers, it looks like he is gaining the reputation he rightfully deserves
