The Hudson Valley Folk Guild will be presenting its annual Seasonal Holiday Concert on Friday evening, December 9th, 2011 at 8pm. The concert will be held at the Hyde Park United Methodist Church, Rt. 9 and Church Street in Hyde Park, NY 12538.

Created by Kat Koppett in association with Freestyle Repertory Theatre in New York, Spontaneous Broadway is a virtouso evening of musical improv.
The audience submits titles of "songs that have never been written". In a fictional "backer's audition", these titles inspire improvised songs in act one. In act two, the audience's favorite song serves as the basis of an entire (45 minute) Broadway musical, complete with costumes and set.
The format received a rave review from The New York Times when it premiered in New York in 1995. You ain’t seen nuttin’ like it, folks!

 This is a beautiful and unique way to support a very underserved segment of the community. As hard as our local farmers have been hit by the storms of late summer and early fall (i.e., Irene, Lee, and Mr Frosty), the farmworker community has been hit at least that hard, and to our knowledge there really has not been much of any kind of mechanism to provide them with the basic help they need, namely just to feed their families.
Here's a way ~ a lovely and delicious way ~ you can help. Come to the Seligmann Gallery/Studio, buy a beautiful hand-made bowl for a mere $10 (or even more, if you can swing it), get that bowl filled with some delicious, donated, home-made soup, and listen to some delicious, donated live music.
You'll be so glad you did.
Proceeds go directly to the Alamo Farmworkers' Food Pantry.

| My primary instrument is my voice, and my guitar embellishes, accompanies, and decorates it. My sound and style are my own.  Best-received and most-fun-to-sing winter holiday music from the past 10 years! The concert will include rousing fanfares and gentle lullabies, celebrations of Christmas and Hanukah, an American spiritual, a French carol, a contemporary Israeli song, a crackling sleigh-ride through the Russian countryside, a sing-along, and much more!
Tickets for the concert are $10 for adults and $8 for students. Purchase tickets at the door or in advance from choir members. Doors open one-half hour before each performance.
Comprised of neighbors and friends in the Hudson Valley who enjoy singing together, the Rhinebeck Choral Club welcomes new members into its ranks each September and January.

Greg has been playing drums for over 50 years. He has performed on the Tonight Show and others.  Rethink Pink debuted on Halloween night 2011 to a packed house of over 400 people at the Bearsville Theater in Woodstock, NY. Formed by 17 year old guitar phenom Connor Kennedy, Rethink Pink honors the incredible compositions made between 1967 and 1994 by Pink Floyd. Half tribute, half jam-band, we aim to please any fan of Pink Floyd, and any fan of music! This will be our first performance of Dark Side of The Moon in it's entirety, as Pink Floyd performed it on the 1972 tour (prior to the record's release). We'll also be playing some classics as well as a few deeper cuts and rarities!!!

 Well, Here I am, back again at one of my favorite listening rooms, The Lehman Loeb Arts center at Vassar College. I will be performing at their 'Late Night Thursday' events, and the start of a once a month jazz session, where students as well as musicians from the area are invited to come and experience the art, and the art of jazz improv. All musicians are encouraged to bring instruments, or voice, and be ready to create a new path through the improvisational wilderness.
So, come stroll and absorb this current remarkable exhibition, have a drink, eats some light foods, and listen and perform to the rumblings of evocative jass and exotic lounge as we explore all types of music within the jazz genre.
