The Poughkeepsie Chapter of the Hudson Valley Folk Guild continues its 2011-2012
coffeehouse series on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at the Unitarian Fellowship, South
Randolph Ave., Poughkeepsie. The coffeehouse performances start at 7:30 pm with an
open mic format followed by the featured performer, Jane March.
Jane March is a singer-songwriter who hails from Poughkeepsie. She has gained acclaim for her original songs and has been one of several local area artists participating in “Summer Songs”, a week long festival of songwriters engaged in classes, seminars and
creative projects where the end product is a new song. Jane features a strong voice and accompanies herself on guitar. Many of her songs are topical and cover many of the contemporary issues of the day. Admission to the coffeehouse is $6, general admission and $5 for Folk Guild members and seniors. Greg was the drummer with Walter Murphy and the Big Apple Band, who's popular disco-era hit was " A Fifth of Beethoven". He has recorded on "The Saturday Night Fever" Album and has done jingles, Broadway Shows, and TV movies. Greg is currently working on the popular TV shows Family Guy, American Dad, and Cleveland.
