He recently opened for Buddy Guy at the Ridgefield Playhouse and he's played at some of the top venues in New York City; BB Kings & the Iridum Jazz Club in Times Square, The Cutting Room, Tera Blues, The Red Lion, South Street Seaport, Madison Square Garden (Knick's Half-Time Show) and many others throughout the Tri State area. At every Mojo Myles show there is plenty of Groovin' & Movin'. This is a one of a kind live music experience ...come join the fun!

When songwriter Vance Gilbert exploded on the Boston scene, the boom was heard all over New England. News of this bold, infectious performer spread like prairie fire. No local performer in recent memory, not Tracy Chapman, not Dar Williams – has gotten hotter faster than Gilbert...His catchy, pop friendly melodies support keenly crafted, hard- hitting lyrics. His guitar is supple, his milk-warm tenor honest and gently acrobatic...he does not duck hard truths and never succumbs to the temptation to tie his points up in neat platitudes or truthisms. He is that rare performer for whom people lean forward in their seats as eagerly between songs as they do during them. Opening the evening is KJ Denhert. KJ's performances will move you to laugh, to dance and even to cry. Her special blend of urban folk & jazz has earned her four Independent Music Award nominations and in '09, she was named as one of Jazz.com's top female vocalists.

Leader and tenor saxophonist Gerry Malkin has performed with Tito Puente, Lew Soloff, Adam Nussbaum,George Colligan, the Temptations, the Four Tops, Ray Vega and Dave Weckl. 
The best musicians from all over the country share the stage - a big comfortable rug lit by Victorian lamps. 
Starting at 7:30 p.m., with open mic sign-up and refreshments available at 7 p.m. The admission for this event is $6 ($5 for Folk Guild members).
Fred Arcoleo’s deepest desire in life is to help influence the way the world changes. He writes songs and poems that strive to reveal the contradictions in our society between appearance and reality, and spends most of his time channeling his anger over the conditions of life that exist for so many into productive activities. He is
most recently the founder of Rally Folk Records, where he released his first CD, “SEEDS.” 
At the 2nd Annual Catstock benefit for Mid Hudson Animal Aid, David Kraai & Amy Laber dole out a set of the finest country folk music this side of anywhere! Country harmonies, sweet banjo, tasty mandolin, twangy guitars and soulful harmonica... it doesn’t get any better than this! Other acts on the bill are Catchpenny Caravan, Dan Lavoie, The Amendments, Down to the Bricks and more! "Me and My Ex" is made up of 2 New Paltz residents Ginny Leitner and Rob Leitner: but don't let the last names fool you - they really are divorced, but are still literally making beautiful music together (alas, the figurative "music" disappeared awhile back...). Come see them play a mixed bag of folk, light rock and country covers. And, they promise not to bicker on stage (although she has been known to roll her eyes from time to time...!). Keith Newman will be sitting in with additional guitar and vocals.
Popa Chubby ~an in-your-face blues/rock/R&B guitar slinger~ says "The core of my music is about excitement. I think music should make people feel alive." The energy and showmanship of Popa Chubby's sets have earned him critical and commercial acclaim overseas, even more than here. In fact, he's become a huge star in Europe, where he appears on the covers of magazines and routinely sells out major venues.

You have to check this band out. Nice Classic Rock and Roll and Blues band plahying the best of 50's 60's 70's cover tunes along with blues and some country tunes. The Outer Limitz Band is what you say Outta this world. Come by and enjoy an evening of Great Food and drinks!

This Sunday, "Jazz At The Falls" welcomes the "Matt Finck Trio" to the High Falls Cafe. Joining Matt will be Ira Coleman on bass & Adam Nussbaum on percussion. Matt Finck is one of the most respected and versatile guitarists on the scene today. Before returning from NYC to his native Hudson Valley, Matt was a staple on the the Harlem music scene establishing himself as a formidable Blues and Jazz guitarist. Together with Ira Coleman & Adam Nussbaum, this combination promises to be one that you won't want to miss. 
Workshops for drummers, dancers, and performers will be at the TRANSnDANCEnDRUM Center Mon. Sept. 26th─Fri. Sept. 30th 7-9pm, and Mon. Oct.3─Thurs.Oct 6th 7-9pm with final rehearsal Oct. 6th 7-9pm. Performance Sun. Oct. 9th, 12:00-4:00pm at Willow Kiln Park, Rosendale NY. All classes are free. It is not required to take all classes in order to participate. We request at least one class plus final rehearsal on Thurs. Oct. 6th from 7-9pm. We encourage everyone to take as many workshops as possible. It is such a rare opportunity to study with such an esteemed artist. This event was a Christmas pageant brought to Brazil from Portugal during colonial times. It developed into a new tradition named Cavalhada or Corrida da Argolinha inspired by the medieval knights. Decorated in medieval costumes, they ride horses, later replacing the medieval helmets for great heads of ox. This is a presentation which happens in Pirenopolis, a city near Brasilia.

If you've ever been to a subdudes' show you can't miss the infectious smile from the man who is front & center in the band. He is their lead singer, lead guitar player, and songwriter, Tommy Malone. Now, imagine being able to spend an evening up close and personal as he shares his incredible talent in an acoustic setting, backed up by an amazing multi-instrumentalist and singer: Ray Ganucheau. You will get to hear songs from Tommy's full catalogue of tunes, including many of the subdudes' hits that he wrote. It will be a treat for subdudes' fans and new fans as well, to hear their favorites as they have never heard them before. Even in this scaled back setting you will get the high energy performance that Tommy brings to every show. Fresh off of his appearance in Treme on HBO (and while the subdudes are on hiatus), the act is getting great early reviews, so don't miss the opportunity to see this show while you can!
Join Guitar'd & Feather'd as they host The Fernwood Open Jam night located on Malden Ave. in Palenville , NY. Catie Curtis has been a fan favorite on the acoustic music scene for a number of years now. Her well-deserved reputation as one of our very best singer/songwriters has followed her through nine critically-acclaimed recordings. With her tenth and newest project, Hello Stranger, released in August 2009, she gifts her loyal fan base and entices new listeners with a recording that captures some of the magic of her live performances. With the help of her Nashville-based record label, Compass Records, she selected a few of Nashville’s best musicians to make an album featuring fiddle, mandolin and banjo as well as acoustic guitar. Opening the evening will be Susan Kane, a singer songwriter based in northern Westchester, NY. Her original songs are inspired by contemporary and historical figures, natural elements and that richest of resources, language itself. Her music derives from country, folk, blues and rock roots.
The Hudson Valley Folk Guild's Friends of Fiddler's Green Chapter will be presenting Helen Avakian and Terry Champlin, in concert, Friday evening, October 14th, 8pm. Helen Avakian and Terry Champlin are a husband and wife team and two incredibly versatile musicians. From classical to folk music – from composing to singing and songwriting, they do it all – and they do it magnificently.
Sam Lardner is one of the Towne Crier's "home grown stories." He is a proud former winner of our Open Mic contest (1994) and has been a frequent TC performer with his superb Mediterranean fusion band from Barcelona, Spain, ever since moving there in 1997. Pedro Hermosilla is a Top-40 artist from Barcelona, whose flamenco-based style and colorful lyrics have made him one of Spain's top singer/songwriters. Together, Sam and Pedro bring us their very personal and melodic outlook on music, life and love on the Mediterranean. :|: Rob Morsberger is a singer-songwriter and classically-trained composer. In addition to his own records, his sideman credits include Jules Shear, Loudon Wainwright III, Dan Zanes, The Roches, Crash Test Dummies and Marshall Crenshaw. Scoring/arranging credits include Masterpiece Theater, Boardwalk Empire, NOVA and Frontline. He has received stellar reviews in USA Today, The Boston Globe and Herald and more.
