Sweetly melodic and often melancholy, as well as intelligent and soulful, Poulopoulos’s songs, like him, are honest and eloquent. His guitar playing makes you want to tap your feet, or cry a little. Sometimes both. His lyrics, complemented by the steady strum or picked out tones of the guitar, always tell a story — some are sad, some are happy, and some, like his song “On and On,” achieve both with a humorous spin — and they’re always poignant.
His musical influences vary, but their common foundation is American blues and roots music. His many influences lend him to the acoustic singer/songwriter style, but without sounding like anyone in particular—his music is very much his own.

 B2SF 2011 will feature 21 artists in a range of genres. The festival will utilize the entire Backstage Productions (BSP) complex. The Main Stage will feature some carefully selected popular national acts as well as food and drink concession. The Main Stage's impressive line up will include artists signed to major record labels as well as artists with TV contracts and radio airplay. The Main Room will cater up to 2000 people.
There will also be a smaller stage for local acts. The Local Stage will feature 13 of the Hudson Valley's top musicians all competing to win the title of The Hudon Valley's Best Band. These artists will play for a crowd of up to 200 people and 3 judges who will review the artists and select 5 of them to move on to the next round where they will compete in a tournament style competition on a date on October 15th, 2011 at BSP in Kingston.

Storm King Art Center presents its Concert Series: From Vienna to Naples on Saturday, September 10th, 2011.
Krista Bennion Feeney (violin), Daniel Swenberg (Baroque guitar and lute) and Clara Rottsolk (soprano) will take you on a musical journey from Vienna to Naples-from Schubert songs for guitar and soprano, Corelli violin sonata Op. 5, Monteverdi's "Et e pur dunque vero" for soprano, violin and lute, with works by Scarlatti, Pasquini, Porpora, Biber, Mealli, Matteis and others, ending with a few of our favorite Neapolitan songs and Tarentellas.
Events are free with Storm King paid admission. All ages are welcome to attend all events.

You'll never hear anything like it in a small venue anywhere in Westchester! The band performs classic Swing music, Sinatra, Broadway selections and songs from the '40's, '50's and beyond.
Greg has been playing drums for over 50 years. He has performed on the Tonight Show and others. Greg was the drummer with Walter Murphy and the Big Apple Band, who's popular disco-era hit was " A Fifth of Beethoven". He has recorded on "The Saturday Night Fever" Album and has done jingles, Broadway Shows, and TV movies. Greg is currently working on the popular TV shows Family Guy, American Dad, and Cleveland. His Big Band has been together for 12 years, performing all over the tri -state area.

The RCC is open to all residents of the Hudson Valley. All music-skill levels, from none to professional, may join. Rehearsals are on Wednesdays, September through May, from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. The group presents two major programs each year: a holiday concert in December and a spring concert in May, and several small-ensemble programs at various locations. Singers may participate in one season or both, and pay $30 per season to participate. Music runs the gamut from Broadway favorites to classical pieces, pop tunes to novelty songs, and even specially commissioned works. For the upcoming Winter concert, the Club will reprise audience and member favorites from the past decade. They can be heard online at www.rhinebeckchoralclub.org.

 Fred Smith, former musical director for the Harlem Blues and Jazz Band is the trumpeter of choice for many swing bands through the years from Panama Francis Orchestra to George Kelly's Jazz Sultans to Al Cobb's Big Band.  Daniel Lippel is an active classical guitar soloist and recording artist, as well as a collaborator in ensemble settings in various different styles. He received his doctoral degree after studying with David Starobin at the Manhattan School of Music. As a chamber musician, Lippel has performed at the Macau International Music Festival in China, the Musica Nova Festival in Finland, the Darmstadt Festival of New Music in Germany, and Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival at Alice Tully Hall. The young and much-lauded guitarist is not only a master of Bach’s music for guitar, he is also in demand as a regular member of the critically acclaimed International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) and indie rock-global music collective Mice Parade. His program mixes classical works by Bach and Schubert with music by contemporary composers, as well as his own indie influenced compositions for amplified guitar and effects pedals.

 Keyboardist Dave Keyes has been on the Blues scene for over 20 years, performing with some of the most important figures in Blues, Roots and Folk music like Popa Chubby, Larry Campbell (Levon Helm, Bob Dylan), Gladys Knight and the late, great Lou Rawls. Dave won the Blues Foundation's International Blues Competition and appears at Blues Festivals throughout the world. For 6 years, he was conductor for the Broadway hit "Smokey Joe's Cafe" and is a featured performer on their Grammy-winning soundtrack album.
Dave's newest CD "Roots in the Blues" ranges from "rollicking boogie" to soulful R&B, Zydeco, Country Blues and some solo Gospel piano thrown in for good measure. It's been receiving critical acclaim from pubs like The Village Voice, Living Blues and Downbeat (3 1/2 stars).
If you're ready for some foot-stompin' Blues and (to quote the Village Voice) "two-fisted pianistics", don't miss The Dave Keyes Band.
