The Hudson Valley duo have shared the stage with Lucy Kaplansky, Christine Lavin, & Buddy & Julie Miller. Upright bassist Mark Murphy & drummer Michael LaRocco will join Michele & Rick at this performance. www.openbookmusic.com

Jim Coyle - A Howland & Hudson Valley perennial, Jim forges our common heroics into songs from the heart to the heart; where every foible & fortune inherent in living becomes the fire of song. With a musical stew of rock, folk, pop, & country, the listener witnesses an organic, distinctly American classicism emerge. Jim has shared the stage with Smokey Robinson, Steve Forbert, Black 47, and most recently renowned guitarpist Phil DeGruy.

M R Poulopoulos
Singer-Songwriter, Blues, and Acoustic
Taste Budd's Chocolate and Coffee Cafe
40 West Market Street
Red Hook, NY   See Map
Sweetly melodic and often melancholy, as well as intelligent and soulful, Poulopoulos’s songs, like him, are honest and eloquent. His guitar playing makes you want to tap your feet, or cry a little. Sometimes both. His lyrics, complemented by the steady strum or picked out tones of the guitar, always tell a story — some are sad, some are happy, and some, like his song “On and On,” achieve both with a humorous spin — and they’re always poignant.

His musical influences vary, but their common foundation is American blues and roots music. His many influences lend him to the acoustic singer/songwriter style, but without sounding like anyone in particular—his music is very much his own.

Our friend Dennis Ballentine from Minnewaska Motors/Outpost BBQ has something really special planned for September 11. There will be plenty of dancing and good food of course. And as if that weren't enough, he also has a steer sorting demonstration planned... Yee-Hah! Bring a lawn chair, bring your dancing shoes and get set for a great time. The Lustre Kings a swinging Rockabilly outfit from Albany get the party started from 1 til 4. Then it's Blues Time with Big Joe & The Lo-Fi's from 4 til 7. It's a good day to gather together with friends and be grateful for the many blessings in this life. See you on Sunday in Kerhonkytonkson.

"Outstanding creatively, artistically, intellectually, musically. He brings to light the universal questions that are asked by all thinking beings -- an ambitious undertaking for any art form. To do so in an engaging musical form with a simple story line that appeals to all ages is an outstanding achievement. The wordplay I expected, but he outdid himself on this one." -Joe Cromwell, Westchester NY

Singer/songwriter JAMES DURST has created a rich & varied musical experience to dramatize eco-awareness, interweaving themes celebrating environmental sustainability, unity in diversity, friendship & peace. HUE MANATEE and his new-found friend, itinerant musician FLICKATI CRICKET seek the wisdom of renowned change agent LEON CHAMELEON, who invites them on a journey to the Galápagos. They share songs with SHINING EAGLE, ELLA CONDOR, a trio of dolphins, a whale and the popular street-corner quintet, ACAPELLAGO. Imagine The Lion King meets Candide. Humor is abundant throughout.
