Clifton 'Chico' Anthony (Tenor Pan) hails from Antigua, where he played Double Tenor with the steel orchestras Superfly and Halcyon. He has performed with the Pott Steelers Orchestra in St.Maarten, the Mood Steel Orchestra in Brooklyn, the Pearl out of New Jersey, and 3D out of Suffern, NY.
Trevor 'Bridges' Bridgewater (Bass) from St.Kitts and Arnaldo 'Naido' Vargas (Keyboards) from the Dominican Republic have toured with reggae bands The One Vibe and Rising Lion, and are former members of the Afro-Caribbean band Afroblue.
Bridges performs with the NYC based Caribbean jazz band Island Breeze and participates in the ProjectIMPACT Exceptional Arts-In-Education program. Naido plays the keyboard, accordion, pennywhistle, harmonica, and bass and performs with the Latin band Los Ciegos Del Barrio.

 Among guitarists & critics, Woody Mann is considered a modern master. While the blues are his touchstone, he seems to draw inspiration from every direction, blending a myriad influences with ease and grace. The pioneering finger-style legend John Fahey said it well: "You can hear classical, jazz and blues approaches somehow converging into a single sparkling sound -- a sound completely his own." Woody received his first musical schooling in the living room of Rev. Gary Davis, leaving an indelible influence on Davis' young student and friend. Woody complemented this tutelage with formal training at New York's celebrated Juilliard School. Since then, he has pursued a rich, diverse career, ranging from performing with jazz great Attila Zoller to teaching guitar to legendary recording artist Paul Simon. Mann has also been a faculty member at the New School in NYC; conducted master workshops throughout the world; founded International Guitar Seminars and Acoustic Sessions Inc; etc.

With the popularity of such shows as "American Idol" and "America's Got Talent," this is a great opportunity for these blossoming musicians to showcase their talents in front of entertainment industry professionals, and hone their skills on a stage that, for nearly four decades, has hosted hundreds of musicians while they were "up-and-coming," including Suzanne Vega, Shawn Colvin, Leon Redbone and many, many others. These shows will be held every Sunday, beginning July 10, 2011 until the finale & award ceremony on August 21, 2011.

 Russ Gurney's Blues on Tap.....Guitarist, singer, arranger, and leader. Russ Gurney is the only original proponent of Blues on Tap but the band continues with the help of Drummer extrodinare Bill Gailbraith (esquire), Russ is a current master student of legendary guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli (Johnny Carson’s Chair Guitarist). Previously Russ studied with Joe Cinderella (CBS Orchestra Guitarist.) Currently along with teaching guitar(Privately and at the School of Rock East in "Hackensack NJ, Bergen County") Russ frequently performs with "Blues On Tap" throughout the NY- NJ Tri-State Area. Recently Russ is featured on the latest Silk City Records compelation Urban Legends performing his rendition of Horace Silvers Sister Sadie.

 They say she "has a voice like Jewel with a touch of Jazz." Cassandrea Frake's songwriting is creative, touching and uniquely original. Her song, "Like the Breeze," is a folksy, jazzy, love-tribute. The love theme runs deep in her music and even inspired her to start playing guitar. In her interview on lohud.com's The Listening Room, Cassandra said she began writing music "...to impress somebody--one of the guys I had a crush on--but that guy fell through, and the music lasted." We're glad it did.
Tonight, Cassandra will be joined by a talented singer/songwriter duo, Haley Jane Rose and Jen Fischer. Haley is a drama major at UArts in Philly, and Jen a vocal major at Berklee in Boston. The two have been together since high school, and were discovered at one of our recent Open Mic nights. Their voices and harmonies are amazing... join us for another relaxing Sunday Singer/Songwriter Showcase.

 Based in the Woodstock/Kingston area and playing a unique blend of Roots Rock, Soul and Funk, McGroovin’ is a great new band. They came together in early 2010 when Mike O’Leary – lead vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist – was working on a solo album. He brought in Steve Mulvaney – whom he had already been playing with in the smooth jazz band ds168 – on lead acoustic and electric guitars and Mike Colletti – with whom he’d played a number of dates as a duet for several years – on bass. The varied artistic leanings of the musicians which ran the range from jazz to blues to folk to funk came together to produce a rich and versatile sound.

Michael "Leroy" Bram was drummer and musical director for 2010 Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Jason Mraz, and has performed with industry greats like Willie Nelson and others. Mike's an accomplished harmonica player and singer, and will be joined by members of his band, "Michael Bram and the Alternators"... Brendan O'Grady (bass) and Daniel Glass (a world-renowned Swing drummer).
