In high demand, Art, founder of A2D, has performed with Chuck Mangione, Doc Severinsen, Jeff Tyzick, The Dixie Cups, Pee Wee Ellis, Barbra Mason, Loretta Holloway, Buster Cooper, Dennis Wilson, Ray Blue and multi-instrumentalist David Amram. Deeply called by drums, he performed for over seven years with "A Few Bad Apples," three years with the "Jazz Connection", "Counterpoint," and formed a jazz trio called "Orisha"-an African word referring to the spirit of the god. In 2002-2003, Art was also the drummer for the national tour of "Ain't Misbehavin'".Doug Smith, a phenomenal keyboardist, is a cornerstone of the music community in Peekskill. A key player in the One Station Plaza Jazz Jams, Doug has played with numerous jazz greats. He joined A2D, with Art Hightower on drums, Bill Conway on bass and Christopher Reising on guitar last year, rounding out an already amazing jazz group. Admission $10 | ||
