 A "One Man Show about A Show Within A Show" about the lives of Lewis Carroll & Alice Liddell. This "one man show" is part comedy, part literature lecture, and part Broadway "backers audition". And a lot of fun. Written over an eight year period the original musical Dreams For Alice is performed by the writer Gilbert Hetherwick on an acoustic guitar that also plays synthesizer samples and sound effects. The solo show covers 16 of the musical's original songs and moves between Oxford of the 1860s and the "Wonderland" that Carroll created for Alice and her sisters. All of your favorite Wonderland characters are featured. BRING THE KIDS!

Plaisir d’Amore (literally "The Joys of Love") was written in 1780 by Martini to a poem by Florian. Over the 230 years since its creation, a wide variety of musicians have interpreted this song: Berlioz arranged it for orchestra; Irene Dunne sang it in the 1939 film Love Affair; Joan Baez, Elvis Presley, and Emmylou Harris have all sung it. In today’s program, John Feeney interprets it on bass (with Andrew Appel on harpsichord) as a song without words, using a classical arrangement by Van Waefelghem as his starting point. The program also includes Baroque composers: Bach, Handel, Corelli, and Francois Couperin. Lawn seating.

 Yonrico Scott was raised in Detroit, Michigan by a supportive family when he first showed interest in playing the drums, receiving lessons at age seven, and was a student of Motown drummer George Hamilton at fourteen after achieving all that was available for him to learn playing gospel music in the metropolitan city the previous year, earning him a reputation as the best performer in that genre. In his teens, Scott found an interest in R&B music, and later worked as a session musician for a large number of famous figures, including Stevie Wonder. Scott joined the Derek Trucks Band in 1995. As the second permanent member of the current band with Derek Trucks, by 2010, he had contributed to the songwriting and performed on every one of the band's six studio albums and both of their live albums. Fifteen years later, in 2010, Scott picked up a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album as a member of The Derek Trucks Band for their 2009 album, Already Free.

 Steven Frieder is a 19-year-old jazz saxophonist who's been performing in and around Peekskill for years. Steven is a Manhattan School of Music sophomore studying tenor sax and ready to make his mark on the jazz world. His influences include John Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Michael Brecker, Dave Liebman, Elvin Jones, McCoy Tyner, Oliver Nelson, Freddie Hubbard, Jon Irabagon. He says, "Pretty much all music I listen to influences me in one way or another."
Steven will be joined tonight by four equally talented young musicians--Ivan Rosenberg on trumpet, Jason Burger on drums, Chris Talio on bass and Luke Franco on guitar.

 Named after the Arctic whale whose name means "looking toward the sun," the Narwhals are a high-energy, roots/rock ensemble based in NYC, performing classic roots music from the 60's, 70's & 80's. Each member of the group is an accomplished writer and bandleader in his own right. Josh Dion, normally a singing drummer, plays keyboards in the band, sighting Richard Manuel & George Duke as his main influences. Josh and his band have recorded/performed with jazz artists like Chuck Loeb, Spyro Gyra, Candy Dulfer and Bill Evans. Greg Mayo (guitar/vocals) is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose band is selling out main-stay NYC venues such as The Bitter End. Geoff Kraly (bass) is a composer, producer, and bandleader active on the NY creative music scene. And Vinnie Sperrazza is an accomplished drummer and in-demand sideman. He's performed on several albums with different bands, touring the country and always creating new music.

He is a key player in the diverse genres of Reggae, Rock, Soul, Hip Hop, and R & B and has worked with industry greats like Luciano, Maxi Priest, Buju Banton, Super Cat, Snoop Dogg, Warren G and the incomparable Dennis Brown just to name a few. He has performed at the Reggae Carifest, Irie Jamboree and Sunsplash and his first album “Once Again” contained the highly acclaimed track "Knockin' on Heaven's Door". A second album, “Sky is the Limit”, featured powerful Roots tunes like "Bad Minded People", "Skin I'm In", and a fine version of "Burnin' and Lootin'".

 Lawrence Anthony ("LA" as he is affectionately known) has been entertaining for a long time. The power and seduction of music drew LA to sing, play and entertain. Combine Barry White, Teddy Pendergrass and James Brown, and you get LA's signature style: "old school romance" and soulful, heart-pounding funk! His unique registry as a bass/baritone singer brings passion and fire to the romantic songs that are an important part of this musical experience. LA has performed with the legendary Intruders as well as on many "Motown Review" assignments. He is currently the bass/baritone singer and co-founder of "Tradition", a wonderful "classic soul" singing group. LA has been heard as a radio personality on his own "Quite Storm" show on 91.1 WOSS in New York. He has been seen in commercials and on documentaries for public and commercial television.
