Three of our favorite female vocalists take the stage... it's the night before Memorial Day. Stay up late and come listen to the best live music in Westchester.

Lisa Frieder (pictured here) just received her BFA in performance at SUNY New Paltz. Her lyrics are filled with emotion, and the more we get to know her songs, the more we love them. Keep an eye out for Lisa, she's going to be famous some day.

Sheri's voice and guitar work is described as "hypnotic bluesy American soul meets classic British melodic-pop." All we know is we love it. Influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Joni Mitchell, John Mayer, Norah Jones, and others.

Abby Payne lives and performs in NYC. Abby has a distinct and beautiful voice, and her wonderfully creative original songs will move you. When Abby is at the keyboard, all your troubles melt away. Her influences? Tori Amos, Fiona Apple, Cat Stevens, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, Bjork, David Bowie, Billie Holiday, The Beatles.

CD Release Party
with Cloud 9, Dirty Bath Water
Bodles Opera House
39 Main Street
Chester, NY   See Map
Cloud 9 has recently grown into their own. With a style of music that is equally satisfying on both cd or live at shows. Comprised of six musicians whos goal is to stretch genres and create a new vibe of music that lends equally to tight instrumental as well as catchy word play. With shows that drive hard energy anthems combined with mellow mood crowd pleasers the band has constructed a sound that has made the music experience fun again. Cloud 9 is going places, this is not a pompus statement from the boys but rather a true to life claim of there recent influx of shows reaching as far as Texas. Though the band is in its infancy as far as it's life span all members are seasoned vets of other projects and together deliver a sound that is catchy and new. Still bein easy but now in your neck of the woods.

Dirty Bath Water is one of the most diverse, original, and exciting bands you will hear today. They play everything from Rock to Hip Hop, from jazz to Acoustic Ballads - all original music. And this band is all about the live performance. They can keep the party pumping, or bring it down to a slow and mellow vibe. Unique individual personalities, great showmanship, and refreshingly diverse music - it all adds up to the total package. And most importantly, DBW has fun when they perform, and this vibe carries over into the audience. They are not plagued by the emotionless, over-practiced yet artificial sound of many other bands. Their music is tight, yet they are loose enough to let the emotion of the crowd shape their performance.
