Led by saxophonist and Mahopac High School Band Director Rich Williams, the Secret Organ Trio's sound is rooted in the great American tradition of Hammond organ based jazz groups. The group plays soul jazz, a groove-infused style of jazz that incorporates blues, gospel and rhythm & blues. The sound is reminiscent of the great organ trios of the 1960's with some modern and original elements thrown in as well. The result is a fun atmosphere that moves people and makes everyone feel good. There is no cover for this evenings performance. Your generosity is always appreciated. Dockside is located just 3.8 miles off the Bryant Pond Road exit of the Taconic Parkway.

The CENTER for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck will host world-renowned jazz and ragtime quartet, the Diamond Jubilators, at 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29.
The Diamond Jubilators is an internationally acclaimed jazz band performing music of the 1920s-1940s in an unforgettable way. Since their formation in 1993, they have given thousands of performances in America, Europe, Britain and Australia, enthralling audiences everywhere with their special brand of musical delight. The quartet features Peter Muir on piano, vocalist Susan Burghardt-Diamond, Ivan Hunter on trumpet, and is led by Dr. John Diamond on drums.
The concert is a celebration of the great styles that flourished in America before 1940. Experience the delights of Ragtime, the earthy soulfulness of the Blues and the fiery heat of Dixieland Jazz.

Bobby is known the world over as the Lead Guitarist for Stevie Winwood, Lou Gramm, Benny Mardones and too many others to list. As a matter of fact, When David Bowie lost Stevie Ray Vaughn, David called Bobby to see if he could fill the spot. (Unfortunately, Bobby wasn't available). In 2003, Bobby's second Contemporary Blues CD "Holding Ground" received a first round Grammy nomination. Bobby brings an All-Star lineup to Bodles including Keith Slattery of The 17-Time Grammy Award Winning Jimmy Sturr Orchestra on Keyboards, "The Best Backup Man in the Business" Robert Kopec on standup and electric bass and Special Guest Star Mark "Gus" Scott of the Rock Band TRIXTER on drums.
Scott Urgola, a native of Somers, New York, is an up and coming alternative/indie/folk singer/songwriter with a refreshingly raw sound. He balances an inate sense of realism driven by engaging melodies and introspective lyrics. His voice has a Dylan backslide, unclean but sometimes necessary to feel the song; his lyrics on the whole paint the picture with germane brush strokes; his music so indisputably part of who he is. The good thing is that though Urgola displays an innate reverence for the Dylan aura in his music, he does not allow it to overcome him. He will debut new compositions and arrangements that celebrate the season with music of Latin America, Spain, France and elsewhere. 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday Dec. 28.

Aztec Two-Step's debut album was named one of the top five classic folk albums by Real Simple magazine in '07, joining work by Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Tom Rush and Phil Ochs, also "surpass[ing] Simon and Garfunkel for exquisite harmonies, musicianship and emotion." Their music was a staple of progressive FM and college radio, helping to bring the music of the 1960s into the '70s. Aztec Two-Step continues to impress audiences with their shimmering, intricately textured twin guitar sound, as well as their intelligent songwriting ~ old & new ~ and their inspiring harmonies.

This is a very special series of concerts in which we present some of the most exceptional performers from the wealth of regional talent around us. These are up-and-coming artists whom we know well through their work at Open Mike Nights or as openers for featured musicians. These evenings are an opportunity to see what could be fame in the making, as many of our patrons have experienced in recent years. Join us for a great evening with these gifted performers.
The Kingston Library will be hosting music on Tuesday December 30, 2008! The event will consist of a public open mic session and conclude with a half-hour performance from a top local artist from within the Hudson Valley. Every performer has the option of being recorded, and to purchase a CD of themselves if they wish! The sign-up starts at 5 PM and the event will begin at around 5:30 PM. The featured performer will begin at 7:00 PM and the event will conclude around 7:30 PM. 
Come down to the Firebird Lounge every Tuesday at 9pm for the hottest acoustic open mic around. Hosted by Karl Allweier, any and all types of acoustic music welcome. No cover, come down and play or just have a drink and take it all in. You never know what will happen...
