![]() Postponed to Jan 18, 2009 !!!! featuring Professional Artists Donating Their Time And Talent - HOTFLASH - Catherine Johnson, Maureen Morrissey & Patricia Mazo with special guests: Leigh Finner, Karen Beals & Debbie Major Dave Myers - piano Matthew Germann, the son of Kristy and Michael Germann, a volunteer firefighter in Sullivan county, is a one year old boy who was diagnosed with Infantile Spasm Disorder at the age of 5 months. This rare disorder affects 5 in every 10,000 babies. Matthew was hospitalized for a month and underwent a harsh treatment plan which failed. The family has tried numerous medications which have not been successful in reducing Matthew's spasms. They are now trying a medication from Canada, which has not received approval in the U.S. and is not covered under the family's medical insurance. It now appears that Matthew will need brain surgery to help control this disorder. Bruce Smith, a lifelong Orange county resident will be receiving his second kidney transplant. Family friend Linda Coleman donated the first transplanted kidney which served Bruce well for 10 good years. Recently, dialysis has become difficult so a second kidney will be donated by Bruce's son, Derek, a medical match - in 1998 Derek was too young. A rare recipient from two living donors, Bruce's insurance does not cover expenses associated with the operation (or Derek's loss of work). Neil Alexander & Nail presents their Annual Winter Solstice Celebration Concert at the Newburgh Free Library on Sunday December 21 at 1:30 PM. The winter solstice was an important date on ancient calendars. Prehistoric monuments like Stonehenge and Newgrange in Ireland indicate the day with remarkable precision. Neil Alexander & Nail will honor the day with their special blend of red-hot jazz, burning grooves and soaring soundscapes. In the spirit of the season they will be accepting canned food donations. Everyone is invited to join in a drum circle jam session finale. Bring a percussion instrument (or a pot and spoon) and plan to make a joyful noise to chase the darkness away and call back the sun
Since forming in 1997, Neil Alexander & NAIL continues a commitment to the future of jazz and improvised music. Directing a diverse stylistic palette and fierce musicianship, Neil and his group skillfully blend modern and traditional forms with experimental concepts and electronic music.

![]() Sunday 7:30 pm | Annual Christmas Show! with GANDALF MURPHY & THE SLAMBOVIAN CIRCUS OF DREAMS Rock (progressive) | Towne Crier Cafe 130 Route 22 Pawling, NY See Map |
This popular event has become an annual tradition at the Towne Crier with our friends & neighbors, GM&SCOD, who have also recorded these shows on our stage in the past, and released the CDs. The music of Gandalf Murphy & The Slambovian Circus Of Dreams has been variously described as "hillbilly-Floyd," "folk-pop," "alt-country, roots-rock," and "surreal Americana;" a clear indicator of its singularly indescribable uniqueness. Dancing freely between all existing religious and philosophical mythologies, the music is uplifting, empowering, and a lot of fun.
"The Slambovians cast a wide net ... [their] music seems to energize anyone who hears it." -Relix Magazine

Scott Urgola, a native of Somers, New York, is an up and coming alternative/indie/folk singer/songwriter with a refreshingly raw sound. He balances an inate sense of realism driven by engaging melodies and introspective lyrics. His voice has a Dylan backslide, unclean but sometimes necessary to feel the song; his lyrics on the whole paint the picture with germane brush strokes; his music so indisputably part of who he is. The good thing is that though Urgola displays an innate reverence for the Dylan aura in his music, he does not allow it to overcome him. There is no cover for this evenings performance, your generosity is welcomed. Dockside is located just 3.8 miles off the Bryant Pond ROad exit of the Taconic Parkway.RESERVATIONS:(845) 621 0057 | ||
