 Singer and guitarist Steve Kirkman opens Nov. 9 for acoustic folk trio Red Molly who will be performing a crisp blend of harmonies on the heels of their newly-released album, “Love and Other Tragedies.” The 4 p.m. concert is being hosted in association with WKZE 98.1 in Red Hook.
Red Molly includes Laurie MacAllister (vocals, guitar, banjo), Abbie Gardner (vocals, Dobro, guitar) and Carolann Solebello (vocals, guitar, bass, mandolin).
They have been praised by Scott Alarik of The Boston Globe for their starmaking qualities, including the ardor of their music, their "tick-tight arrangements, crystalline vocals and caramel harmonies."
Kirkman, a Hudson Valley resident, describes his music as Alectro-Americana: part acoustic, part electric, part hot rod, part farm tractor. His musical influences range from early blues of the deep South to the rock-n-roll of Bruce Springsteen.

| This is the second of three consecutive Thursday night appearances by Jimmy Eppard and The RetroRockets, who've been called a super-group by Young Brett of WDST. Many others would agree. The band is fronted by Woodstock area legend, Jimmy Eppard, who grew up in Kingston and has played with everyone who's anyone in Ulster County. He's been called the best guitar player in town by in-the-know musicians. Jimmy is ably backed up by Pete Levin on keyboards, Charlie Knicely on bass, and Tall Paul on drums. Hailing From Birmingham, England... and Fort Worth, Texas.... (and, for good measure, let's throw in Nashville, Tennessee), and already having a full U.S. Tour with Imogen Heap under his belt, Levi Weaver is the best solo act you (probably) haven't heard yet. Using violin bows, multiple microphones, a handful of loop pedals, and (at last count) 4 instruments, this one-man musical octopus is establishing himself as one of the most entertaining and unique in the business. This old soul of a songwriter now lets life copy art as he comes to the Hudson Valley in support of his debut full-length album "You Are Never Close To Home, You Are Never Far From Home".
