	This month sees the triumphant return of The Organiks to B.I.'s Backstage at The Boiceville Inn in Boiceville, NY. Bruce Katz (Gregg Allman, John Hammond, Levon Helm) and Chris Vitarello have just returned from Europe with The Bruce Katz Band, where they played festival dates with Mick Fleetwood and Ray Davies. Drummer Randy Ciarlante (The Band, Jim Weider's Honky Tonk Gurus) just returned from headlining the Peach Jam Music Festival, and sax player, Jay "King" Collins (James Hunter) has been on the road with his father-in-law, Levon Helm, playing the Newport Folk Festival and dates with Phil Lesh. 	Since its inception in 2001, Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes (JSDN) has gained a loyal following in a competitive New Orleans music scene. Their unique FUNK/ROCK style blends guitar, violin and harmonica with a hard driving rhythm section reminiscent of the Radiators' swamp funk added to the punchy horns of Tower Of Power. In essence, JSDN is a classically trained tight unit. All of the members studied music in college, but a night with JSDN is very different than a night at the symphony. They combine the manic energy of 1980s Fishbone with Deep South soul. It is this energy that fuels the crowd into an enthusiastic frenzy, and the band has been known to jump into that frenzy head first (sometimes literally). It did not take long for these young musicians to land slots in most of New Orleans' prominent live music clubs such as The Maple Leaf, Tipitina's, The Howlin' Wolf, The Mermaid, and The House of Blues Parish. On the strength of those performances, JSDN was added to the rosters of many notable festivals and special events. JSDN's debut album, Bandicoot was voted by Offbeat Magazine as 2003 Best Rock Album by a Louisiana Artist. This award was a flattering follow up to winning the 2002 Best of the Beat Award for Best Emerging Roots Rock Band. 	Tony Dekker, the singer/songwriter behind Great Lake Swimmers, released his third full-length album “Ongiara” in 2007. 	E'lissa Jones is a professional singer, prolific songwriter, violinist, pianist, and guitarist. Her songs embrace audiences with her powerful melodies and expressive lyrics. Influential styling ranges from folk music, jazz, rock, and R&B in her catalogue of over 250 original songs. From 2001-2006, E'lissa performed background vocals with blues legend Wilson Pickett, touring with Ray Charles, Al Green and many more. E'lissa in her Folk Music realm has also opened up for Pete Legend and has played violin for old favorites like Bobby Vee. E'lissa has recorded and released two albums "Shadows" and " This Melodie." Her third CD titiled "Anymore" will be released on September 28, 2008. She plays violin in two string quartets "Vivace" and "Andante", and continues to perform her original material solo and with her backing band in the Hudson Valley area of New York.
