Josh Tangney- As a singer/songwriter from Chester , N.Y, Josh Tangney has been writing music and poetry since he was 15 years old. Through his words he creates songs of passion, experience, life, love and loss. Tangney’s influences span from acoustic and country music to R&B and hip-hop and everything else in between.

Paula Valstein has a story to tell and combined with some of New York City ’s most talented musicians, this story can be heard in a way so unique that any listener can relate and understand. Raised in the bohemian city of Tel-Aviv , Paula discovered her Grandmothers Piano at the age of four. At age six Paula fell in love while composing songs taken from her mother’s poetry. With the fire it ignited the drive and passion followed suit and she enrolled in the most prestigious music school Israel has to offer. Just four years later, she would play her first concert to an audience exceeding one hundred eager listeners. At fifteen with the piano mastered and the creativity blossoming, she took her love for Classical music and cross pollinated it with the world of song-writing.

John West - Los Angeles-based soulful jazz singer-songwriter John West is ranked the number one musician on Myspace in the jazz category and has secured over two million hits on his page. Also recently signed to a promotional deal with MySpace Records, his popular online presence continues to expand with global exposure on the Internet. Perez Hilton featured West in his celebrity blog site for his cover of Rihanna's hit song "Umbrella." After moving to Los Angeles in 2005 to concentrate on his music career, West started to build his rapidly growing fan base playing often at Santa Monica 's Third Street Promenade as a dedicated street musician. He performs frequently at several prominent California venues. West pushes himself to create soul without crooning, R&B without formula and pop without gloss.

E'lissa Jones is a professional singer, prolific songwriter, pianist, and violinist. She is an exceptionally talented artist who possesses a dark and melancholy voice with a velvety quality reminiscent of jazz singers. Her songs embrace audiences with her powerful melodies and expressive lyrics.

Marty Koppel, a seasoned artist, performs heart felt Americana, Rockabilly and Rhythm and Blues compositions which are much more than songs; they are a musical testiment that when music comes straight from the heart, you not only feel great about what you do, but you can't stop doing it.

By the fall of '94, The Nields were a full-fledged five-piece acoustic rock explosion. The critical kudos were coming in, with The Boston Globe commenting simply, "The Nields are young. They are hip. They are hot." These days, Nerissa and Katryna are performing as a duo. Just a few years older they are still very hip and very hot, and their latest release, Sister Holler (their 14th album to date) brings them back to their folk roots while at the same time showcasing their growth as musicians and songwriters.

Individually, these veteran pickers have been winning honors (too numerous to mention here) since the early '70s. They have also toured with the likes of Bill Keith, Doc & Merle Watson, the Country Gentleman, Norman Blake and, of course, The McKrells -- playing alongside these other legends and/or opening for them on stages from country festivals to Carnegie Hall. Together, in this new progressive bluegrass band, they play fast and fun, but their compositions also express the entire range of human emotion.

When describing Cherish The Ladies (taken from the name of a traditional Irish jig), the critics say it best: "It is simply impossible to imagine an audience that wouldn't enjoy what they do" (Boston Globe); "An astonishing array of virtuosity" (Washington Post); "Expands the annals of Irish music in America…the music is passionate, tender and rambunctious" (New York Times). For the past eighteen years, Cherish the Ladies have proven themselves worthy of these accolades, growing from a one-time concert concept, featuring the brightest lights in Irish traditional music, to the most successful and sought-after Irish-American group in Celtic music. This powerhouse group combines all the facets of Irish traditional culture and puts it forth in an immensely humorous and entertaining package.

PAT JONES
Rock (progressive), Blues, and Covers
O'Donoghue's of Nyack
66 Main St.
Nyack, NY   See Map
PAT JONES has been playing around Rockland and the NYC area for nearly thirty years. Rock, Jazz, Blues, Pop... even performing in Musicals... it's hard to categorize this guy! As a charter member of THE SYLVESTER BROTHERS, as well as the newly formed GOSSIP (aka G-BAND, not the national act), among many others, he really gets around.

But, there's something special about the music when Pat plays solo. Freed from the constraints of compromise, he can perform selections from varying genres, and the result is engrossing and satisfying for everybody in the room. During his first show at OD's last month, he even slipped in some lesser known Gershwin blues compositions, fluidly sung and beautifully played (he's a working studio guitarist).

And, Pat rocks out with the best of them!

OD's is pleased, through the graces of HVM, to offer you a terrific night of music with the legendary PAT JONES. And, remember, there's no cover charge.

Jay Ungar & Molly MasonBodles Opera House
39 Main Street
Chester, NY   See Map
Jay Ungar & Molly Mason are extraordinary musicians.
If you didn't know it before, you sure did after Ken Burns' The Civil War hit the airwaves. Their performance of Jay's haunting composition Ashokan Farewell - the musical hallmark of the PBS series - earned the couple international acclaim. The soundtrack won a Grammy and Ashokan Farewell - originally inspired by Jay & Molly's annual fiddle and dance camps - was nominated for an Emmy.

Of course Ashokan Farewell is only part of the story.

Since joining forces in the late 1970s, Jay and Molly have become one of the most celebrated duos on the American acoustic music scene. With their comfortable sense of fun and their love of music, they make each concert a musical journey - sometimes spanning two continents and two centuries. Their incomparable warmth and wit - coupled with consummate musicianship - have delighted audiences worldwide.

Listen to the timeless renditions of hard-driving Appalachian, Cajun and Celtic fiddle tunes, stirring Civil War classics, sassy songs from the golden age of swing and country, stunning waltzes, and deeply moving original compositions. It's immediately apparent why Jay and Molly concerts warm the heart, feed the soul, and appeal to all ages. No wonder they continue to receive widespread critical praise.

They've garnered legions of fans through their appearances on Great Performances, A Prairie Home Companion, their own public radio specials, and work on film soundtracks such as Brother's Keeper, Legends of the Fall, and a host of Ken Burns documentaries.

And what of the event that inspired their signature tune? Jay and Molly's Ashokan Fiddle & Dance Camps - in New York's Catskill Mountains - remain a favorite learning vacation destination for music and dance enthusiasts all across the country.

If you love American acoustic music, a Jay Ungar & Molly Mason concert is a must.
