 The Clancy Tradition finds its origins in Ireland in the 1950s when the Clancy family of Moy, County Tyrone, formed a Ceili Band, playing at Irish Country dances and concerts throughout Ireland. In 1960, brothers Pat, Eugene and Brendan Clancy left to tour the United States as the Irish Ramblers, playing at clubs like Gerde's Folk City & Carnegie Hall(!). The musical tradition is currently being passed to the next generation with The Clancy Tradition consisting of Eugene on guitar & vocals, Rosemary Clancy on fiddle & mandolin, Mike Melanophy on button accordion, John Clancy on bass, Liadain Clancy singing vocals and Pat on piano & accordion. Their 1998 album is entitled Live at the Towne Crier Cafe.

It‘s music that smells of big sky country, barbecues, and the
smoke from a ratty ‘49 Ford yanked through the woods by
a moonshiner with an eagle feather in his hat... presented
by an enthusiastic bunch of New York City folk steeped in
the traditions of Southern-style Rock ’n’ Roll.
Like the best Roots bar bands, these guys perform a mix of
cover tunes and many of their own great songs written in
the idiom (You can hear their music on their MySpace page
by clicking on their name above). They don’t get up North to Nyack often, so it’s worthwhile planning to stop by OD’s for “ A Shot O’Shade”!

 The vivid songwriting of Catie Curtis combines insightful lyrics with soulful strumming and energy. You might remember her song "Soulfully," which received substantial radio airplay and was featured in episodes of Dawson's Creek and Chicago Hope. Much of her music entails emotional narratives that the audience can relate to -- she has written about domestic violence, corporate greed, religion, homelessness, peace, and gay issues.
In 2006, Catie was named grand prize winner of the International Songwriting Competition, for her song "People Look Around" from a field of 15,000 entries from 82 countries.
