LINDA SUSSMAN is an award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist from New York whose music is a mix of alternative-folk and blues that digs into our shared human experience. As KTAL host Ron Cooke says, “Sussman makes the personal universal and the universal personal.” Her vocals are often compared to Joan Baez, while her self-taught guitar style use open tunings, fingerstyle and acoustic slide. In early 2026, she released her sixth album since 2018, titled Don’t Drink the Poison, which ranked #3 on the Roots Music Report’s Top Alt-Folk Album Chart in January and was a Top Album on the FAI Folk Chart in February. She’s been on WFUV John Platt’s On Your Radar series, while the many venues she has played include the iconic The Bitter End (NYC), the Long Island Music Hall of Fame (Stony Brook, NY), the Jeanne Rimsky Theater (Port Washington, NY) and more intimate stages such as Radio Bean (Vermont). Occasionally, you can find her onstage with her lead guitarist Mike Nugent.
