David Janeway's powerful and fluent playing has been heard in a wide variety of contexts, from straight ahead jazz with musicians such as Art Farmer, Craig Handy, Freddie Hendrix and Eliot Zigmund through Latin-Jazz artists such as Angel Canales and Sabor to Dakota Staton and The Supremes. He has several well received albums as a leader (featuring the likes of Bob Berg, Sonny Fortune, Harvie S and Tim Armacost) along with his critically acclaimed trio recordings with Cameron Brown and Billy Hart. He continues to perform extensively in the NYC club scene as well as venues throughout the US and Europe. His latest release on Steeplechase is, Live at Blue Llama, featuring his trio with Robert Hurst and Billy Hart and is available on all major streaming sites.
