When they met, it was for each of them the sound of the other's music that was the attraction... they were both just 21 years old. He had played jazz since the age of 11 in the resorts of Lake George, NY, where he grew up. She was a folk singer who since getting her first guitar at 13, was just budding as a legitimate songwriter. It took decades of marriage, three children, hundreds of gigs and seven albums between them before they decided to create a recording of the music they wrote together... they met in the middle just this year, and they love where they are!
Matt Finley's band Rio JAZZ has been performing Brazilian jazz for over thirty years. Denise Jordan Finley has toured world-wide as a singer-guitarist-songwriter and has won numerous awards for her songs, which have been placed at the top of the Folk DJ List in the areas of song, album and artist.
The sound they have created by combining their very different styles generates poignancy that is rhythmically powerful.
