Playing the Hammond B3 Organ, Jeremy leads his funky soul-jazz trio performing Blues, Jazz, and Roots Music. He’s been playing festivals and jazz clubs in the New England region since the release of his first album. JB’s Band was also featured on Boogaloo to McDuff, a tribute to Jack McDuff, available on Scufflin’ Records. Back in the studio for his sophomore release, The Eel, on Flying Yak Records, Jeremy Baum knocks it out of the park with 10 Hammond organ and piano driven arrangements. The Kingston Chapter holds a coffeehouse on the first Saturday evening of each month except July and August. It is held at the meetinghouse of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Kingston, Sawkill Road, Kingston, NY. The coffeehouse consists of an open mic and a feature performer. It starts at 7:30 p.m. and ends at 10:15 p.m. Doors open at 6:30, Open Mic sign-up at 7 p.m. Admission is $6 ($5 for Folk Guild members).Folk Guild membership is $10 per year and members are also entitled to discounts at Folk Guild events in Poughkeepsie, Hyde Park and Kingston. Defying standard categorization, Sloan consistently demonstrates her easy command of a variety of American musical styles held together by the melodious tone of her rich contralto, with the end result being a unique and soulful hybrid. Her family tree (brother and folk-music luminary Loudon Wainwright, nephew Rufus Wainwright, nieces Martha Wainwright and Lucy Wainwright Roche) reads like a who’s who of contemporary folk music. Sloan’s incredible gift is not only her unique songwriting ability but also her dramatically voiced rendition of original songs. She’s folk influenced, but the real star is her voice. TEOA is a band of friends, singers and travelers who blend three-part harmony with rock and Americana. The Philadelphia-based outfit masters a style that resonates with fans of Ryan Adams, CSNY and Dawes. All frontmen of previous bands, Brendon Thomas, James Downes and Trevor Leonard met on tour in 2005. They went on to form a trio that highlights their vocal chemistry and captures the raw honesty of their performances. For us, discovering new talent is a thrill. Especially when they're as young as these two bands. Oberman is a trio from Mahopac. This all-girl pop-rock band features rising Mahopac High School sophomores Jessica Cox (vocals/guitar), Sophia Romero (vocals/bass) and Grace Goodman (vocals/drums). A recent write-up in Mahopac News reported, "With myriad influences pulsating throughout the band, it's no surprise Oberman's set list is pretty eclectic... "Tusk" by Fleetwood Mac; "Minor Thing" by the Chili Peppers; "Twist and Shout" by the Beatles; "Wake Me Up When September Ends" by Green Day..." and more. Absolute Zero is also made up of Mahopac HS students. AZ features Ryan Shevlin (guitar), Jaime Bochiccio (vocals), Matthew Martirano (drums) AND Michael Sottile (bass/vocals/keys). Sundad is a World Fusion, New Age and acoustic Jam-Band, including father and son guitarists, John Eurell Sr. and John Eurell Jr. and other great musicians, whose original repertoire consists mainly of finger-style acoustic guitar instrumentals.
Sundad's 1st CD, Journey To Eternity, received a first round Grammy Nomination for 2005 Best Contemporary World Album.
