Saturday 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm | Walkabout Clearwater Chorus and Coffeehouse with The Kennedys Folk/Traditional | Memorial United Methodist Church 250 Bryant Avenue White Plains, NY See Map |
In a career that now spans two decades, New York duo Maura and Pete Kennedy have traversed a broad musical landscape, surveying power pop, acoustic songwriting, and organic rock rooted in their early days in Austin, Texas. Pete handles most of the heavy guitar duties just as he once did for Nanci Griffith on her Grammy-winning "Other Voices, Other Rooms" and on tour. He also spent some time playing with Mary Chapin Carpenter's band. He released a few solo instrumental discs to much local acclaim before meeting Maura. Maura hails from Syracuse, NY, and gained some fame with the alt-country Delta Rays in Austin. Before that, she had won the New York Country Music Association's Songwriter of the Year Award and wrote songs for Warner Music. A great strength of The Kennedys is their ability to pen a stellar melody amidst a soundtrack that spans the American roots music spectrum with more than a heavy slant on heyday rock 'n' roll. On either side of Sean are bass player Jason Sarubbi and drummer Seth Moutal who support the songs with a solid but organic rhythmic groove while belting out sweet vocal harmonies. Guitar players Warren Gold and John Burdick set up at the far left and right edges of the stage and weave in and out of the sonic mix with soaring lead melodies and lush rhythmic passages. He underwent two World Tours with The Rolling Stones, US tours with Cream, UK tours with Jethro Tull and Fleetwood Mac, The Isle of White Festival in 1969 and Glastonbury in 1970, played at Mick Jagger’s wedding, before soured record deals resulted in Terry leaving Britain for America nearly 40 years ago.

Friday 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm | Joni Mitchell: A Tribute, Scott Petito, Gail Ann Dorsey, Veronica Nunn, Leslie Ritter, Jay Collins, Danny Blume, Roberto Rodrguez, Travis Shook, Rachel Z | The FALCON 1348 Route 9W Marlboro, NY See Map |
Producer & bassist, Scott Petito assembles a world class ensemble, with some of the most well-respected musicians working today, to interpret the timeless music of the genius from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. "When the dust settles, Joni Mitchell may stand as the most important and influential female recording artist of the late 20th century" - Allmusic Joni Mitchell’s gift was so enormous that it remade the social space around her. It is no small burden to possess something as valuable as Mitchell’s talent, and it meant that this girl from the Canadian prairie would be in the world, whether she liked it or not. All she needed was her lyrics, preternaturally analytic, wry, and shrewd; her chords, largely self-invented, a kind of calligraphy of the moods; and her voice, which modulates from patter to rue to rhapsody in a single phrase. The best pop music is often preening and shamanic. Mitchell’s is almost always about what two articulate adults mean, or once meant, to each other. | ||

His music is "intimate and soulful". He'll have you riveted to your seat, while at the same time you won't stop moving to the groove. Adam started recording at 16 and was one of NYC's most sought after session/touring guitarists. He worked with Will Downing, Sophie B.
