Thursday 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm | Thursday Evening with Live Music on the Side with E.C. Lorick Acoustic, Contemporary, and Motown/R&B | Zephyr Restaurant 302 Main Street Pine Hill, NY See Map |
EC Lorick is is NOT to be missed!!! If you have plans, change them. :-) You'll thank me later. E.C. Lorick is an extremely gifted, insightful, captivating songwriter and performer. There are so many facets to this gem: His voice is just beautiful. Smokey, understated, passionate, expressive, soothing. I could listen to him sing endlessly and never tire of hearing him. It doesn't matter if he's performing a composition of his own or someone else's composition: At the risk of sounding cliché, E.C. makes everything he sings his own. His interpretations are flawless and original and compelling. His versions are definitive. His musicianship is world-class. He plays the guitar, the bass, and the harmonica like no one else. Effortlessly, beautifully, dynamically. When it comes to musical precision, tonality, harmony and passion. E.C. is not to be missed. E.C. Lorick on the Internet

Saturday 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm | Walkabout Clearwater Chorus and Coffeehouse with Guy Davis Folk/Traditional | Memorial United Methodist Church 250 Bryant Avenue White Plains, NY See Map |
Davis once said, "I like antiques and old things, old places, that still have the dust of those who've gone before us lying upon them." Blowing that dust off just enough to see its beauty is something Guy has excelled at for over 20 years of songwriting and performing. It's no wonder his reverence for the blues masters who've gone before has been evident in every album he's ever recorded or concert he's given. Guy has had his musical storytelling influenced by artists like Blind Willie McTell and Big Bill Broonzy, and his musicality from artists as diverse as Lightnin' Hopkins and Babatunde Olatunji. However, there's one man that Guy most credits for his harmonica techniques -- that man is Sonny Terry. Guy Davis has spent his musical life carrying his message of the blues around the world, from the Equator to the Arctic Circle. His work as an actor, author, and music teacher earmark him as both a Renaissance man and a true ambassador of the blues. For tickets and more information

Marc's original music is influenced by Folk, Funk & Blues, with a few choice cover songs woven in. As one reviewer wrote: "If you haven't seen Marc Von Em perform live, you're only cheating yourself." Marc creates amazing amounts of sound and diversity through his voice and one faithful guitar. His chops are wide-ranging, from delicate finger picking to rambunctious Pete Townsend-type strumming. Marc is able to seamlessly switch his vibe -- his dynamic voice can go from smooth & soaring to smoky scatting. His harmonica playing is equally impressive and he sometimes uses it to accompany Muddy Waters-style blues on guitar. Just off his 3rd tour with The Rob Thomas Band -- this year with the famed '90s band, Counting Crows -- Marc Von Em receives raves reviews wherever he plays. Rob Thomas wrote, "... when I heard his original stuff, I asked [Marc] to open up a 10,000 seat gig. Just him, his guitar, and his songs. He killed it!" **$5 Entertainment Fee or Free with Dinner** See Marc's performance with the Rob Thomas Band
Sunday 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm | Susan Shann Singer-Songwriter, Folk/Traditional, and Pop/Soft Rock | Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY See Map |
Susan Shann ‘s musical influences range from the unparalleled song-craft of Joni Mitchell to the psychedelic landscapes of Pink Floyd, the blues fire of Stevie Ray Vaughn to the vocal genius of Ella Fitzgerald, just to name a few. She has woven these diverse threads into a pattern all her own, with songs ranging from edgy rock narratives to inspirational pop, folk and even country. There are the familiar topics of love lost or found, but then she writes an uplifting spiritual, an irresistibly fun groove, a political anthem or a song reflecting our deep connection to the earth. It is this balance between music as pure enjoyment, inspiration, and social message that keep this Jersey-girl-gone-Nashville’s passion alive and well, as “Rhythm of the Road”, her latest album by Grammy-winning producer Bil VornDick, attests.
