Painted Betty, formed in 2009 in the Hudson Valley, buoyantly blends elements of county, jazz, blues, and tango into a unique sound. Sonia Ryzy-Ryski's lush soprano flows from jazz to Spanish ballads, and her ironic songwriting brings humor. Tim Hall, guitarist and elegiac songwriter, works as a NASA scientist by day, and his brother Andrew Hall, upright bass, is a seasoned musician who has worked with the likes of Sparklehorse and the Crash Test Dummies. Jazz clarinetist David Rothenberg is internationally known for his playing with, and writing about, the natural world, and has recorded with such luminaries as Peter Gabriel. Drummer Eric Starr leads a multifaceted life as a composer, a jazz performer, and music educator. Painted Betty's debut album, "Fifty Bucks and I'll Show You," (2011) is available on iTunes.

A Very Special Acoustic Concert
with Big Joe's Lo-Fi Trio
Blues, Jazz, and Acoustic
St. James' Chapel
10 E. Market Street
Hyde Park, NY   See Map
We are really looking forward to this event. We will be performing in the intimate/acoustically superb St. James Chapel (where FDR was baptized) as part of their fall concert series. We'll gather by the fireplace in the community room for a little wine and cheese first, and then proceed into the chapel for an extra mellow - but still swinging - afternoon of Lo-Fi sounds. We hope to see you there.

One caveat: Don't look for us at St. James Episcopal Church which is slightly up the road on Route 9 (we won't be there). The chapel is on Market St. in the village of Hyde Park right across the street from the post office.

Big Joe Fitz - vocals, guitar, harmonica

Robert Bard - bass, vocals

Mark Dziuba - guitar,vocals
