Chris Brown
Singer-Songwriter
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
With his distinct bass tone, Christopher Brown has pleased audiences for more than two decades with his repertoire of musical stories. Chris' special view of the world is portrayed honestly and humorously through his innovative, story-telling lyric, enlivened by a unique blend of folk, country and rock & roll. A reviewer recently wrote, "his sound might best be described as James Taylor meets Johnny Cash."

Chris calls his new album "Characterist". That's because he is not only a singer/songwriter, but an artist/illustrator who can capture a subject's essence through caricature. With a few strokes, he reveals hints of a character's nature or temperament, their mystery or charm. He does the same thing with lyric and melody, outlining and shading characters and moments, even yearnings and states of mind. His deep rumble of a voice can be as direct as an approaching train, yet warm and forgiving.

Chris will be joined by master guitarist and composer Peter Calo.

Good old American Rock & Roll!
with Pat O'Shea & the Honest Men
Rock (classic)
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Pat O'Shea has the kind of musical pedigree many musicians only dream of having. He's worked with some of the biggest stars on the Blues scene including Hubert Sumlin and Joe Louis Walker, plus six years as guitarist for the legendary Levon Helm.

And yet, O'Shea says of The Honest Men, "They're some of the best players I know... the best band I've ever been in." Now that's saying something.

The Honest Men are: Chris Burke on Hammond organ/piano/accordion, Mike Severino on drums/percussion, Evan "Eli" Wagner on acoustic & electric bass, Will Van Sise on guitars/pedal steel/vocals and Pat O'Shea on guitars/ vocals/ mandolin.

While he started on the Blues scene, O'Shea is now a straight-up Rock & Roll man, playing songs with strong musical content and three-part harmonies... music that grabs you and refuses to let you go. And "hopefully some of the most honest song writing you've heard in a long time."

with The SUNDOWN Band
Southern Rock
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
The SUNDOWN Band has been performing their brand of Southern Rock since 1976. Every time the band's been reviewed, the response is the same: "You will be hard pressed to find another band that performs with the talent, passion, and intensity that these guys bring to the stage every night." (WPDH 101.5 FM).

From the beginning, SUNDOWN played all the legendary Westchester clubs like the Fore 'n Aft, Bottom's Up and The Beachmont, as well as NYC clubs like Lone Star Cafe. Many of the band's life-long fans now bring their teenage kids to experience the band's classic style; unique renditions of Southern Rock classics from bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, The Outlaws, Marshall Tucker, Molly Hatchet and more. They don't just cover the songs, they play them with heart. The highlight of their shows are the duel guitar talents of Ronnie Pauls and Steve Mitchell, which leaves audiences in awe. We can't wait.

In the tradition of such modern musical irreverent Reverends as Rev. Horton Heat, Rev. Billy C. Wirtz or Rev. Billy of the Life after Shopping Choir - such is Reverend Freakchild. He has played in many bands including an early incarnation of Soul Coughing with M. Doughty leaving to form the roots rock jam band Bananafish in Boston and then onto some work with The Neptune Ensemble, The Soul Miners (w/ guitar virtuoso Matt Rae), The Lucky Devils and The Cosmic All-Stars touring internationally. The Rev. spent 3 years off-off-off Broadway singing blues and sprituals on Sundays at Tobacco Road, the now defunct NYC hippie hangout replete with drug addicts, hookers and music freaks. The Rev. has also served as a member and featured soloist of the Metro Mass Gospel Choir performing at such venues as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fischer Hall and the Town Hall Theater. The Rev's music has been featured in many TV programs and commercials, and also national radio advertising campaigns.

This event is co-sponsored by Fox Oldies 1220am/98.9fm. End this musical weekend on a sweet note with our region's premiere Doo Wop group “The Phantoms” with special guests 'Times Square."

The Phantoms are Joe Veillette, Charlie Staxx, Brian Becker, Dorraine Scofield, Jasmine Veillette, Charlie Pistone and Jerry Mitnick. Fox Oldies afternoon drive personality "Buffalo Bob" Corsino will be on hand to MC.

A cappella resists modern recording techniques. Click tracks, isolation booths, one-at-a-time overdubs all seem to dilute this style born of vocal groups imitating big band sounds with nothing but voices. A cappella thrives on the stoop, the subway station, and the tiled hallways of New York and Philadelphia. The Phantoms bring their twenty years of experience, their Brooklyn hearts, and the keen ears of Joe Veillette and family to a style whose origins go back half a century. So kick back and discover Woodstock's best kept secret.

AMAZING HARP PLAYER- JOHN NEMETH, WILL BE PERFORMING @ BRIAN'S BACKYARD BBQ, THIS SUNDAY EVENING -OPENING BAND-TBA
Blues, Motown/R&B
Brian's Backyard BBQ
1665 RTE 211 EAST
Middletown, NY   See Map
Harps man John Németh plays vintage rhythm and blues with an ability to blend retro and modern Blues and soul music into something that sounds both old and new. Németh draws on the classic Blues, soul, and R&B influences that drive his vocal style and lays down a set of tunes that wouldn't sound a bit out of place in the golden years of Memphis or Muscle Shoals. His vocals have the toughness of James Brown and the tenderness of Solomon Burke. A thirty year old native of Boise, Idaho, he grew up singing in a Catholic church and started playing in local bands as a teenager. Nemeth recently recorded a 45 RPM vinyl record called "Name The Day," a rousing old school soul mover, backed with "Why Not Me," a gospel-tinged, spine-tingling ballad. Tara Dougherty is a singer/songwriter who combines soulful vocals with a Folk flavor. Tara's been playing on the New York City circuit for several years exciting audiences with her poetic lyrics. Even her songs of heartbreak are beautiful. "When we fall, if we break, it's the way we're made and the chance we take. Cause we're still too young to bend that way... When I go, I'll ask you to stay, cause I'm too weak to bear this break again." Aside from writing and performing music, Tara is the Music Editor at Irish America Magazine.

Rich Kelly is a singer, bassist and guitarist who plays solo and as a sideman in many ensembles. He's been showcased on local TV shows such as The Working Musician. Stellar songwriting, stellar singing
with Steve Chizmadia
Singer-Songwriter
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Steve is an award-winning Singer/Songwriter living in the Hudson Valley. His influences range from The Beatles, The Eagles, Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson to the great songwriters in the Texas troubador tradition: Guy Clark, Steve Earle, Eric Taylor and Townes Van Zandt.

But Steve has a style all his own: a little Bleecker Street, a little 6th Street, and a little Rock 'n' Roll.

Steve is well-loved by audiences and critics alike, and 12 Grapes especially. He's won several awards: In 2011, Steve was a winner at the HV SongFest Emerging Artist Competition, Wildflower! Music and Art Festival songwriting competition, Woody Guthrie Songwriting Contest (3rd Place) and a Kerrville New Folk finalist. In 2010, he was Grand Prize Winner of the Music 2Life songwriting competition.

Come for dinner or a glass of wine and one of the area's most well-loved original performers.
