	The Columbia Arts Team announces an original music showcase and competition for local bands and solo artists, Upstate Idol. The semi-finals will take place Thursday, July 17 at 7:30 pm, at the Mt. Washington House Restaurant & Tavern in Hillsdale, NY, which is co-sponsoring the event. The show will be hosted by local singer Christina Dellea. “Upstate Idol is a chance for some local original music act to break though and be heard, “said Dellea, whose latest CD, “The Songs I Sing” is available in stores and on the internet. The finals will be held on Thursday, July 31at 7:30pm-place TBA. Regional music artists who perform their own material are invited to participate. The grand prize is a professional digital recording session with critically-acclaimed producer Sandy McKnight at a top local studio.
