What do you get when you mix catchy melodies, smooth harmonies, hilarious lyrics, audience participation and a group of entertainers whose sole goal is to give you an experience that won't soon be forgotten? You get the musical-comedy of Gargerelli.

Since 1970, Gargerelli has delighted audiences with their unique blend of comedy, music, improvisation, magic and impressions. Founded by Vin Gargiulo and Gene Focarelli, they called their act Gargerelli: "Garg" from Gargiulo and "erelli" from Focarelli. (Well, it was better than Foca-giulo!) They added several incredibly talented musicians to round out the act and a most unique comedy group was born.

All their songs are original and display an innovative style of satirical humor, artfully blended with tight musicianship and flawless harmonies. Combining music and a sometimes sick sense of humor, Gargerelli's audiences have rocked and laughed to the sometimes comical, sometimes poignant, melodies of Gargerelli for over 30 years. A Gargerelli show is a party that won't soon be forgotten. There is nothing quite like an evening with Gargerelli.

"That chicken song…. I love it, I love it, I love it." Tiny Tim

"Absolutely adorable… they are terrific." Cousin Bruce Morrow

Showcase of Open Mic Summer Jam Contest Finalists

Ken Blumberg
Pat Daley
Brianne Chasanoff
Denise Jordan Finley with Dan Pagdon

Our Thursday Night Open Mic has been successfully operating for almost eight years (Sept 17th) and we have attracted some of the most talented musicians the Hudson Valley has to offer. This summer has been no exception to that rule, only we've kicked it up a notch by adding a little friendly competition to the mix with our First Annual Open Mic Summer Jam Contest. So in addition to the extremely talented pool of regular participants we have grown accustomed to, the contest attracted a few new voices to Historic Downtown Chester, and the mix is absolutely phenomenal!

The four finalists of the summer long competition are all pretty incredible talents and we're excited to present them to you in this showcase. The winner of this competition will be awarded two performance opportunities; one is a night of their own to do whatever they like with or without additional acts on the bill, and the second will be an opening slot for a National or Regional act here at Bodles. The winner of this competition will be determined via audience participation, in other words, an applause meter! The more folks that come to the showcase, and the louder they cheer their favorite on, the better chance of winning that performer will have.

So come on out & join the crowd while cheering on your favorite. We will be here at 6:30 serving dinner, so come out, enjoy an incredible night of music & make a night of it!

Doors open at 6:30 pm
Tickets: $20.00 Dinner & Show / $5.00 Show Only

I'm honored to be a finalist in the first ever Bodles open mic contest. This should be a lot of fun and a great show. The styles of music are diverse and all enjoyable. Other performers are: Ken Blumberg, Brianne Chasanoff, and Denise Jordan Finley w/ Dan Pagdon.

Music starts at 8:30, but if you don't reserve in advance, then it's best to be early as we expect this to fill up. The winner will be chosen by "applause meter" so I hope you'll come out and scream for me. I'm a bit weirded by competing against my buddies. However, if I am honored to be chosen winner by applause, I promise;

1. I will NOT raise your taxes under any circumstances.

2. I'll throw a big live music party at Bodles for my winning gig, and all other finalist will be invited to play also.

Louisiana Red has lived the Blues. And Louisiana Red not only plays the Blues, he lives it through his guitar and his singing. Strongly influenced by Muddy Waters, Lightnin‘ Hopkins and Arthur Crudup, he has long ago found his own voice, his own style, his own form of expression.

When Red performs, the songs are often only launching pad for expressing his immediate feelings in the almost lost tradition of spontaneous composition that goes back to the original Delta Blues artists an even further to the West-African griot bards.
