Reviews of "Magic"
"When you enter the realm of Magic, Karen Beth's newest release, you'll wander between the worlds,
through lands of dreams and wonder, endless possibilities, and enchantment. The songs are truly
wonderful, and the arrangements perfectly embellish the songs. "Magic" has been spinning in my CD
player since the day I first heard it."
The Alternative Review
"Trying to pick a favorite on Karen Beth's new CD, "Magic," is a very hard task. The 13 songs all
have a unique quality, and every one of them is special. But, if forced to chose, I'd say my favorite is
"Touching" (a song about connecting to a loved one following death), "Magic" (a magical song about
Hallomas, or Halloween as it's commonly known), and "Must Be Spring" (a love song to the arrival of
that special season). ..What I especially enjoyed in listening to this recording is the mostly unexplored
topics Karen writes about. No hackneyed love songs here! And check out the cover--a self-portrait
with angel."

Reviews of "To Each One of Us"
"Definitely my "Peace for the People Album" of the year. Peace Unending gets my vote for "Anthem of
the Year" as well. Womenspirit Rising, Taking You With Me, Full Moonlight Dance and the title are
written by Karen Beth. That's why this release shines. Fine, fine songs. Every track is strong (the
definition of an OMAR). I hope we hear more from her soon."

"Karen remains Alix Dobkin's favorite songwriter, and you'll see why when you hear this album. It's a
recording of extraordinary beauty and depth, weaving elements of women's spirituality with
compassion, self-awareness, and love of women. Highly recommended!"

"A favorite! The mood changes and lovely lyrics speak to many of the life experience we
know--peaceful as well as transitional and painful times. Her voice is one of the finest I've
heard...Soothing, often stirring and very much in tune with our universal human feelings, this album
touches deep and powerful images."

Reviews of "the edge of the horizon"
"In the icy days and nights of winter, traveling on slippery roads up and down the mountains, we
worked on this record," says the jacket of Karen Beth's Edge of the Horizon. When the weather
warmed, they moved into a recording studio in a little town on the Hudson River. The result is a
relaxed, country-sounding album. It has some really memorable songs, plus a fine overall showcase
for Karen's many talents as songwriter and composer, pianist, singer, instrumentalist, producer, and
even photographer for the cover photo!
...There is a variety of musical styles on this record, including boogie-woogie and reggae, in addition to your basic folk sound. That, plus the varied topics of the songs, make it a work of real depth. I got a feeling of Karen's real "in the bones" musical talent, and appreciated her ability to be vulnerable in disclosing her emotions. If you appreciate finely crafted songs, excellent musicianship, and lovely vocals, this outstanding record is for you." Gay Community News
Reviews of "New Moon Rising"
"Stirring without being abrasive, lilting yet tough, this is the best way to describe "New Moon Rising."
Karen proves herself the master of the country folk medium. But Karen can rock with the best of
them, and the addition of that rough edge comes through clearly on "Too Much Control." Other
vehicles that effectively showcase Beth's talents are "What To Do," and "The Jester." Real good
listening doesn't come along all the time. Pick up on this one while you can.
