Pawling Music By The Lake at Lakeside Park
A variety of music for all ages.

"Music By The Lake" is a series of concerts presented by the Town of Pawling Recreation Department. The concerts usually take place during the summer, although there are occassional concerts at other times of the year. The concerts take place at the Pavilion at Lakeside Park at 2 Lakeside Drive (or in the Lathrop Building at the same site in case of inclement weather). All concerts are from 6:00 to 8:00pm and all concerts are open to the general public and are FREE.

2018 is the 13th year of Pawling’s “Music By The Lake” free summer concerts and we are pleased to welcome back our friends “Back To The Garden 1969” to kick off our new season.

A favorite of Pawling concert-goers, the band brings “The Woodstock Experience” to Lakeside Park on Saturday, July 14. “Back To The Garden 1969” performs a wide variety of classic songs associated with Woodstock, including acoustic and electric rock, acid rock, folk music, and soul. The musical performances are a tribute to the artists who made Woodstock great, and are authentically performed in the style of those artists . Band members are Gary Adamson (drums, guitars, percussion, vocals), Annie Masciandaro (drums, percussion, vocals), Tom Sprock (bass, vocals), Geoff Hartwell (guitar, vocals) and Benny Harrison (keyboards, vocals).

On Saturday, July 28, Pawling’s “Music By The Lake” will present a free concert featuring the band “Fat City Rockers”.

What do you get when you mix rockabilly with surf music, and throw in some rocking blues? You get “Fat City Rockers”, of course! Making their first appearance at “Music By The Lake”, “Fat City Rockers” is a high-energy, three piece group who have been rocking and swinging the tri-state area for years. Covering tunes by artists such as The Stray Cats, Brian Setzer, Bo Diddley, The Ventures, The Shadows, Bill Haley & The Comets, Elvis, Eddie Cochran, The Coasters, Jerry Lee Lewis and many others, the band appeals to a wide age group. Their mission is to play songs that the older generations haven’t heard in years, while also introducing younger listeners to this awesome music.

Band members are guitarist Tim Merrigan (strummin’ and a croonin’), bassist Seth Lipscher (slappin’ and a yellin’), and drummer Chris Mannel (bangin’ and a hollerin’).

On Saturday, August 11, Pawling’s “Music By The Lake” will present a free concert featuring the “Bruce Katz Band” . This trio is led by award winning composer/performer Bruce Katz on organ and piano. Bruce is an inductee of the New York Blues Hall Of Fame and a four-time nominee for the W.C. Handy Award.

The trio also features gifted guitarist and New York Blues Hall Of Fame inductee Chris Vitarello. A Berklee College of Music graduate, Chris is well known throughout the Hudson Valley.

Rounding out the trio is drummer Ray Hangen. With a professional career starting at the early age of seventeen, Ray defines the term “deep in the pocket.” .” Whether playing blues, country, funk, jazz, rock, R&B, or zydeco, Hangen hits a hard and hot beat as steady as it grooves.

On Saturday, August 25, Pawling’s “Music By The Lake” will present a free concert featuring the band “The Greyhounds”.

“The Greyhounds” play straight-ahead roots rock‘n’roll in its purest form – dynamic, joyful, powerful, and honest. Blending rockabilly and rhythm & blues with the twang of classic country and the drive of 60's beat (with a few instrumentals thrown in for good measure), these guys are roaring on all cylinders. They are the perfect band to bring our season to a close – with back to basics, rhythm-driven rock'n'roll that is a blast and will no doubt have you up on your feet dancing!!

The band members are: Stuart Millman (vocals), Mark Hollenbeck (guitar), Elmo Contelmo (bass), Chris Kaiser (drums), and Steve Greenfield (sax & keyboards).
