12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar Great live music 5 nights a week.
Featuring an amazing array of musical talent, 12 Grapes has live music Thursday through Sunday. From Blues to Classic Rock, Swing, Motown, Soul and Acoustic Singer/Songwriters... we've had Zydeco bands and even Reggae and Bluegrass. We hosted a Tribute to the Fillmore and hold an annual "Grape Jam Weekend" every summer that features exceptional talent. Some incredible musicians have performed on our stage including Jon Cobert, a 5-time Grammy nominated keyboard player and producer. Jon brought guest artists Mark Rivera in April and Aug of 2010. Mark is the sax player for the Billy Joel band and musical director for Ringo Starr. Grammy nominated guitarist Gil Parris performs at 12 Grapes several times a year. We've had international touring artists like Alexis P. Suter, who's performed with Dan Aykroyd and BB King... NY Boss Guitar Man Dave Fields and JT Lauretsen, an acordian player from Norway... Grammy winner Yonrico Scott of the Derek Trucks Band and Andy Aledort, who tours with the Dickey Betts Band. Our Singer/Songwriter Sundays showcase local artists of exceptional talent including Petey Hop, Mishti Roy, Drew Bordeaux, Steve Chizmadia, Marc Von Em, Mani Cregan... the list goes on and on.
12 Grapes features a once-monthly Open Mic, a once-monthly Rock Jam and and even a once-monthly 18-piece Swing band. Check our calendar at 12grapes.com for events.
At the bar, "Winekeepers" dispense 12 reds and 12 whites by the glass or taste. There's also beer on tap and a full service bar. Our New-American menu, created by a Culinary Institute Chef, offers an interesting selection of appetizers as well as flat bread pizzas, salads and amazing entrées.
12 North Division Street is a beautiful, historic brick building, with French doors opening onto the street. The charm of the old wood floors and brick walls are accented with all new furnishings and warm lighting. The stage area in back has overstuffed leather couches for lounging. It's a cool décor reminiscent of a SoHo bar.
We’re open Tuesday-Sunday for lunch and dinner, plus Sunday Brunch. There’s plenty of free parking at night and on weekends.

 On the first Thursday of each month, Jon Cobert invites a different guest artist to join him onstage for a varied and intersting evening of song. Jon Cobert is a five-time Grammy-nominee, singer, songwriter and keyboard player. Jon's recorded and produced with many music industry greats... John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Chapin, Harry Chapin, Pete Seeger, Judy Collins, Chubby Checker, Al Green... the list goes on and on. Tonight, Jon is joined by the multi-talented Andrew Bordeaux. Drew is also an accomplished singer/songwriter and musician. On occasion, Drew treats us to his electric fiddle, for a unique sound that is truly inspirational.  For the past three years, Michael "Leroy" Bram has been the drummer and musical director for 2010 Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Jason Mraz, touring the world, making numerous television appearances and performing at countless festivals. Michael has recorded with Willie Nelson, and toured and recorded with 2007 Blues Music Award nominee, Dave Gross, and 2008 Blues Music Award Nominee, Gina Sicilia, as well as w/ blues harp ace Dennis Gruenling.Now performing in and around the NYC area with his Blues band, "Michael Bram and the Alternators", Michael shows off his talent as an accomplished harmonica player and singer.  If you missed their previous 12 Grapes performances, now's your chance! Andy Aledort has performed with scores of rock legends... Dickey Betts, the Allman's and the late, great, Stevie Ray Vaughn. Famous for meticulously capturing, note-for-note, the licks and tone of artists like Clapton and Hendrix, Andy Aledort is often tapped for high-profile appearances. When a band needs a player who can recreate the guitar work of Stevie Ray, Buddy Guy, Albert King, Freddie King or Johnny Winter, Andy delivers in a big way. Aledort was once sought after by Aerosmith's Joe Perry for an emergency Blues lesson, and has performed as a member of the Dickey Betts and Great Southern band for the last five years, displaying masterful slide guitar work.  Jimmy Tate is not only an accomplished guitarist, pianist and vocalist, he's also a world-renowned tap dancer. Jimmy has performed and sung in five Broadway shows, sharing the stage with artists such as Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, Ben Vereen, Phylicia Rashad, Ann Reinking, and three-time Tony winner Hinton Battle. He even performed at the 1997 Grammy Awards. Jimmy is able to mold his voice to almost any style of music: Dave Matthews, Elton John, Billy Joel, John Mayer, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Coldplay, The Fray, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, The Foo Fighters, Tom Petty, U2, and The Eagles are just a few of the groups and artists he covers. Led by dummer Greg Westhoff, who tours both nationally and internationally and is in the band for the hit TV Show "Family Guy", this 18-piece orchestra is made up of world-class musicians who all have impressive resumes, having performed on Broadway and beyond.  Inspired by the great Jazz singers Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Peggy Lee as well as Soul and R&B artists James Brown and Tina Turner, Nikki Armstrong has a voice that "could melt gold", as one critic writes. Nikki has performed and/or recorded with such artists as Melvin Sparks and the Great Les Paul. For the past few years, Nikki has been hosting her own radio show, "Blues in the Grooves", every Wednesday afternoon on WFDU, 89.1FM.  Oct 9 is John Lennon's birthday. In celebration, we're remembering John Lennon's songs. His lyrics. His life. And his influences on our lives. Join us tonight for a John Lennon Tribute. We don't know a bigger fan of John Lennon than Steve Chizmadia. (Well, maybe we know one or two.) Steve's repertoire and love of Lennon songs runs deep, and his musical talent and vocals are perfect for the part. Steve was the grand prize winner in the "Music2Life" songwriting contest at the 2010 Kerrville (Texas) New Folk Festival for his song, "Wall Street Fat Cat Tax Payer Bailout Blues". It was his second time in Kerrville, the last as a 2003 finalist. Steve's song "This Old Town" received honorable mention from the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in '05.
