Singer Wanted for non-gigging, just for fun band
For the past 9 years a group of us have been meeting in Middletown NY to jam some of our favorite rock songs. We are looking for a singer who is into the following:
Beatles, Stones, CCR, Animals, Tom Petty, Roy Orbinson, Doors, The Who, Elvis, 50s and 60s assorted rock - you get the idea.
We have a song list of 500+ songs, Each song has corresponding chord chart/lyric sheet available at the studio.
We pass the list from player to player, each player choosing one of the 500 songs to try. We don't work on or tighten up songs. We play them once and move on to the next one.
It is a judgment free zone and we are not looking for a singer who need songs to be "right" or who is uptight.
This is a very chill and relaxed atmosphere. We have two electric guitarists, one acoustic guitarist, keys, bass, two drummers (who share time) and four singers (who share time.)
You'd be filling in for any singer that can't make it or on nights when we are short on singers (which has been a lot lately!)
We play from 7:30-11:30 PM every other Friday night (give or take) in Middletown at a private studio belonging to one of our players.
On nights when there are multiple singers, you can rotate in and out, but expect most nights to be one of two or three singers. We generally do over 40 songs a session, so there is MORE than enough time to get everyone in. If you're uptight about playing time or are looking to be a "front man" you're not a good fit.
We just love rock. And we just love playing rock. And we'd like for you to join us if you have similar philosophy and can and want to sing.
It'd help if you can sing and aren't looking for an opportunity to use us as your karaoke machine. That said you don't have to be perfect or amazing, you just have to love rock, love having fun with chill musicians in a drama free environment.
