Jason EadyThe Falcon
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
On his last two albums, Jason Eady earned major acclaim for his ahead-of-the- curve take on classic country, a bold departure from his earlier excursions into blues-infused Americana. Now with his sixth and self titled album, JASON EADY, the Mississippi-bred singer/guitarist merges his distinct sensibilities into a stripped-down, roots- oriented sound that starkly showcases the gritty elegance of his songwriting.

"...as you dig deeper, and the songs begin to speak, and each unique, hidden, sneaky turn of phrase starts to hit you, the greatness of this album starts to shine through. And the fact that the record is stripped down, allowing for this kind of reflection and introspection, is part of the genius that allows these songs to grow. It’s a songwriter’s album..." - Country Exclusive

The Trapps are an original roots rock band that was formed in New Paltz, New York in the winter of 2003. Standing center stage at a Trapps show is Sean Schenker, who's poetic lyrics, soulful vocal delivery and percussive acoustic guitar simultaneously form the band's foundation and direction. On either side of Sean are bass player Jason Sarubbi and drummer Seth Moutal who support the songs with a solid but organic rhythmic groove while belting out sweet vocal harmonies. Guitar players Warren Gold and John Burdick set up at the far left and right edges of the stage and weave in and out of the sonic mix with soaring lead melodies and lush rhythmic passages.

The Trapps will be playing old favorites and selections from their latest CD. This will be a joyous evening with family and friends and, most assuredly, an incredible night of music not to be missed.

The Cafe is thrilled to have The Trapps back to their hometown venue.

Amy Helm presents her 2nd Annual Woodshed Residency Tour, Mondays at The Falcon. The tour includes Tuesdays at Rockwood II in NYC, and Wednesdays at The Parlor Room in Northampton, MA.

"I'm just trying to tell some stories as honestly as I can," Amy Helm says of Didn't It Rain, her first solo album and her eOne Music debut.

Amy Helm has been making music for most of her life, and won widespread praise as a singer, songwriter and live performer, first as a member of the celebrated alt-country collective Ollabelle and subsequently for her extensive work with her father, musical icon Levon Helm, who passed away in 2012.

Amy's solo album, Didn't It Rain also marked the final recording sessions of Levon Helm, who acted as the project's executive producer as well as adding his unmistakable drumming on three tracks; Levon's distinctive count-off can be heard kicking off Amy's rousing take on Martha Scanlan's "Spend Our Last Dime."

It’s that moment when the house lights go down and the audience erupts: a drumbeat punches through the darkness, and the stage lights- almost blindingly bright at first- reveal a killer band ready to unleash a catalog of classic hits like none other. That familiar snarl of a slide guitar rips open the room, and you know you’re about to experience a bad-to-the-bone icon at his very best. George Thorogood And The Destroyers are throwing a Rock Party for 2017, and you’re invited. From coast to coast, the critics agree: “I’m happy to say, after all these years, that George is still ‘Bad To The Bone’ and he’s never let go of the true spirit of rock ‘n roll!” says the L.A. Daily News; “Thorogood is a guitar-blazing revivalist whose enthusiasm and showmanship make music fresh,” says Baltimore Sun: “He’s got charisma and personality to burn, a fact that becomes evident the moment he walks on stage,” says Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Rodriguez, the legendary singer/songwriter known only by his surname, is a self-taught guitarist. He began performing in bars and clubs around the city of Detroit in the 1960s, as the city suffered post-industrial urban decay. It was there that he recorded two studio albums, Cold Fact (1969) and Coming from Reality (1971), both of which went unnoticed in the U.S. and eventually turning Rodriguez’s efforts elsewhere.

It wasn’t until the 1990s that Rodriguez gained his popularity from South African fans who sought him out and leading to the unanticipated renaissance of his music career. Their story is told in the 2012 Oscar Award-winning documentary “Searching for Sugar Man,” which has given Rodriguez a new measure of fame in the U.S. with his music and story now reaching audiences worldwide.

Rodriguez now tours extensively in South Africa, Australia, Europe, Canada and the U.S., where he takes thoughtful appreciation in greeting longtime fans.
